You will need to download Shadowbox Media Plugin from http://www.softforge.co.uk or another lightbox plugin/module that recognizes lightbox or shadowbox rel attribute in order to use the shadowbox view.
JQuery is also required for effects to work. Visit the help section on general use, and to get the full benefits of XMovie download the modules and plugin in the download section.

Good extension as displayed in demo website but not as good as it real when i installed on my Joomla website.
I set the type YOUTUBE but neither URL Link or URL Embed code are working, i paste the video code, full url link video code and even paste embed html into URL Embed Code but neither aren't working. It says "The movie uploaded is not in a valid file format."

I bet you didn't ask for help...
I had some problems at the beginnig using xmovie, i've wrote to Dana Harris and received an answer that solved all very quickly ! thanks for this good job and nice support !

I have encountered a serious issue when using XMovie. I wrote to Dana Harris asking for help, sincerely without much conviction. Surprise! I received rapidly a response from the author and he helped me resolve the issue. Xmovie is a great extension. I recommand it to everyone who want to outperform their site. Most of all you have a solid and reliable support.
Very easy to use, plays most formats without the hassle of conversion. I wish you could upload from the frontend, so that non-admin users could easily add videos. Outside of that, this com is A+.

Hi Thanks for the review. I'm currently working on a pro version that offers multiuser support on the frontend similar to XGallery Pro. It should be out in a couple months.

An all round good extension, with good documentation, takes a little while to understand the many useful settings in configuration, making it pretty flexible.
Support by the developer is fantastic, very friendly and useful.
Would be nice to have a simple module in addition to the component, which displays a single movie.

Thanks for the review. There is a module for displaying single movies... Look for XMovie Movie module.
I found XMovie to be exactly what I was looking for. I needed the ability to display movies in a module. Most video players available would only show movies in articles. I tried - and purchased - other players that promised to work in modules but either didn't or were just to cumbersome.
XMovie has a number of sister pieces that expand the package. I haven't tried them but expect they will be as great as XMovie component and module.
Tech support was SUPER fast and very much appreciated by this reviewer.

I needed a video component and I tried XMovie. It did everything I needed except for the ability to disable AutoPlay. I emailed Dana and asked for directions to do so. Not only did Dana respond immediately but she provided a new version of the component that allowed AutoPlay to be enabled/disabled. Great work and worthy of a donation! Thank you!
This component was released by the same developer who made XGallery. XGallery for me was a great deal and so is XMove. It's easy to install, easy to manage and gives you a very good control over the final layout, and on the top of it: it is FREE. Not just the applications are good, but the real difference here is the support, which is very fast and precise. Dana, the person who wrote this solution, is very responsive and always ready to help you to solve your issues. I use XGallery and XMovie in my website (a racing cars website), which has tons of photos and videos and I don't have any kind of major problems related to the solutions.
So, if you are looking for some stable solution with a first class support, this is your answer.

The component is easy to install, efficent in its goal. Easy administration. Is important install add the plg_xmovie_search (downloads of the same page) to join the search texfield of Joomla with XMovie. Additional have to download free mod_xmovie_menu, mod_xmovie_fce y mod_xmovie_jscroller.
