I have one main issue with this module. If you have different layouts on different pages, then whatever page you are on the layout will be the same as that page. Meaning you could have a homepage with a sidebar on right and a sidebar on left. On another page have just sidebar on right. If you come from homepage you will have sidebar on both sides. If you come from the other page you will only have the one sidebar.
The only way I know to get around this is remake the same module and add the appropriate layout you want that is connsitant with what page you are coming from. So you may associate one version of this module with homepage and another with the rest of your pages. If the layout is the same on the rest of them.
Otherwise it is a great module though. You just may have to do a little redundent modules because of this downfall.
Support was great and very fast. Also I learned a lot of thing about styling thanks to support.
If you have articles in your site this extension MUST BE!
Thanks a lot to developers!!!!!
Thanks for your awesome feedback uzbaby :)
Hi baijianpeng, Of course you can hide the "other articles". You just need to make sure the sum of Number of Columns x Number of Rows = Number of Articles
Simple as that :)
Regarding the Readmore button, I'm not really sure what exactly do you want, but if you need assistance feel free to post a question at our website forum. Thanks!
For me, it was like icing on the cake from the front page of my website. After extensive trouble shooting, I simply had to make a decision to stop using it after a suitable solution to resolve the number of conflicts could not be found.
Everything we did only offered a temporary fix. Anyway, I had to come in say GREAT JOB! If I didn't desperately need to other two components to perform some core functions, I would have stayed faithful...
In all fairness, it was just one of those quirky things... that happen...
I was working on a newspaper site, on pages where the first article had a photo with summary, and then the 2nd through 10th articles were shown as titles only. This module did so beautifully, and the ability to add our own css file was just marvelous.
Only issue I have had with it is that it seems to select the last image in the article to make the thumbnail, which has been troublesome in some uses.
Overall- highly customizable and highly recommended!
This FREE module is easy to install, looks great and preforms well. Highly recommended.
This is a free module, so nobody can comlpain about it and you'll see that the developer adapts this to requests, even those on JED (see below), so it's not the module or the developer that's flawed, just my experience.
One suggestion however, can you add the functionality to just select featured items (instead of choosing a category)? Or to enable sorting articles by whether they are featured? Thanks :)
We have updated the module with features you requested. You may re-download it now.
We have revamped the code and update it to work in Joomla 1.7/2.5. Have a try...
One major bug: though the module works well for the most part with joomfish, it fails to pick up the translation of the category, rendering it always in english no matter what language is selected. I hope this can get fixed soon and I will gladly raise my rating.
