Needed a quick, easy and plain news scroller for our community. Gave Newsscroller Self DHTML a try and it's exactly what we need. Easy configuration for fast custom news. Add link to a new area of your site. Show your visitors changes. Or whatever.

...and I really love it. It does what it says on the can, everbody who seems to be disappointed simply can´t read.

This is really just a blurb rotator that you can put your own text in. For a joomla site it's pretty worthless. You can't link it up to articles or categories, all you can do is put in your own text in the module and it will rotate them. I guess it can be cool if you just need something quick and simple, but i wouldn't really call this a news rotator.

Where did you read that you can show articles? Why do you rate something which is not implemented? The module is downloaded over 55.000 times and is used from thousands of users to show own texts in a module position. You should read the description and don't expect anything which is not stated. In my opinion this is very stupid.

This was what exactly what i was looking for... Simple and Superb.. Thank you so much for this extension.. feature i loved is that it is not restricted to one category.. and we can define what we want to see there.. Thank you once again!

I was searching for a simple front page news scroller and stummbled across Newsscroller Self DHTML. These guys have jumped the gun and got their extension out for 1.6 and it works very easy. Not knowing german you can workout yes and no! I would recommend this as a simple and very customable text scroller. Thanks for a great extension.

The best one I've tried.
You can add news in 1 minute writing them directly on the module.
On the other hand the lack of adding articles by choosing Category or Section is a problem as you can't save articles, publish or unpublish them.
With this option the module would be perfect.

It really was the solution after searching a lot. This extension respect the css styles in my template without problems, you can choose the background transparent and use independent messages item (no articles). Really simple and easy to install ...!

Really good module. Just a few button clicks and it is up and running. Simple and excellent for displaying direct news (news can be written directly into the back end).
Suggestion/Request:
Please include choice for vertical/horizontal ticking. Specially, for one line horizontal ticking purpose. (currently ticks vertically only)

This is a simple add-on that I had installed and working with some sample snippets within 10 minutes.
I like the simple idea of turning on and off of the features and the changing of colours and fontsize proved simple and unfussy.
If you want an unsophisticated rolling news service this will do the job - no fuss.
