GK4 is a new generation of our extensions based on the GNU General Public License.
The Image Show GK4 module is the next step of development of our tools used for presenting content on a page in an attractive way.
With the Image Show GK4 module, you can create a slideshow on a site which includes various images and article fragments or texts defined by a user.
Thanks to the slide management system integrated in the module, its support is very easy, intuitive and fast. With the new method of creating module styles, you can easily move your slideshow style from one template to another template.
Also, the rebuilt administrative panel enables you to manage slides without additional component use.
In comparison with Image Show GK3 module and Photoslide GK3 component, such changes were implemented:
-panel for managing slides built in module options
-support for K2 component
-two types of content supported: articles and user's own text
-module options look totally rebuilt
-improved and more flexible module structure
-rebuilt structure of the module styles
-possibility for installing module styles from different templates
-simplified management of the module style custom options
-built-in support for native com_media component
-built-in native Joomla! article selector in slide configuration
-more possibilities for module styles
-module ID generated automatically
Thanks to these changes, the Image Show GK4 Module support is easier and more convenient. Slides management from the module level allows you to specify and modify a given module content quickly.
- Added new style gk_eSport
- Styles upgraded to support MooTools 1.4.*
- Compatibility with Joomla! 2.5
- Added 5 new styles: gk_mystore, gk_yourshop, gk_league_news, gk_appsprotech and gk_fashion
the back-end for the module is a masterpiece, allowing clients to add slides as desired, each slide can be defined to contain title text, sub text, custom picture and can be linked to custom url / k2 item / joomla article.
it has a lot of possibilities, transitions, styles and configurations, however it may require good CSS knowledge to get it to behave nicely or as you want in non-gavick templates.
we use this and NewsShow Pro by Gavick all the time! it's a killer solid solution for great looking tidy front pages.
Thanks for this one!
I have used various extensions by Gavick over the past years and they are usually VERY good. I don't want to say that there weren't any flaws here and there but in my opinion Gavick is top of the notch and they seem to get better and better.
Btw, so far I have only used Gavicks free stuff and I thought after this great experience it's time to say THANK YOU to the Gavick team for taking away loads of my headaches over the past years.
P.S. Regarding the earlier review: Version 1.22 works fine for me in IE 9 as well in any commonly used browser. I'd recommend you have a look at your template css.
