New feature: Turbo mode. Load huge galleries within seconds!
It offers numerous opportunities to present pictures quickly and easily in articles.
The special feature of the plugin is that you can control any parameter on the syntax call.
Editor Button - SIGE Paramater. With the button you can set the parameters very easy on-the-fly in an article. It is a great addition to the SIGE plugin.
Highligts are: parameter call, watermark function, read IPTC data, read text files (support for multilingual files), thumbnail storage, crop function, sort by modification date, output as a list, CSS Image Tooltip, Editor Button SIGE Parameter and much more!

If you want a photo gallery extension for Joomla 3 you need look no further. There are many things I like about this extension - simplicity, versatility and responsive. Exactly what is required if you have any ambition to use Joomla 3's mobile-friendly feature. The 'turbo' mode makes it ideally suited to the task and I recommend it without reservation.
One caveat - study the settings and try different ones, read the support documents then read them again. Learn what it can do because it is more powerful that you might imagine for a plugin. Try it, love it, use it... SIGE is boss!

in fact it deserves a five stars.. it's really one of the best image gallery I've ever try and turbo mode is fantastic! but turbo mode didn't work at internet explorer 8.. all the rest is good.

The turbo mode is independent of the used browser.
First, I would like to say that many of the other extensions in this category are also great and deserve a good review!
Why did I prefer SIGE over others? It's because of the greatest feature I have ever seen in such a plugin: the turbo mode.

I tried a lot of gallery extensions, but this one seems to be the best for me.
The best thing is that you don't have to know how many files your gallery will show and what the filenames will be. You just put them in the directory and the plugin does everything else for you.

The gallery is just great. Easy to configurate and use. Every time I need a gallery, it's a SIGE I use. Thank you so much for making our lives easier!

I had been using another gallery extension for over a year but had a problem when MySQL was upgraded so I tried SIGE and was very pleasantly surprised at its capability and ease of use. I prefer to write an article with a gallery embedded than using just a menu item to the gallery.

Normally I use other extensions for showing images, mainly because I know how to use them and I don't want to bother with this and that extension. But there was one occasion where i was asked to have a gallery within an article and I did not want to install something that was simply an overkill for what was required. So I got to know this one, and I love it. It works as specs say, and it bothers you none with things you don't need or don't want. 'S' stands for simple - true enough.

SIGE Gallery (in my case Lytebox) is a very interesting feature for showing image galleries. It's easy to use and reliable. I use it in an art gallery site built by a Joomla beginner. The author's site explains well the various features of this extension.

I'm using this extension on my web site and I'm absolutely happy with it. It is possible to display a gallery in an article, but also single images, standing alone or connected to a gallery. With lots and lots of parameters, you can customize it very good, but you don't need to know all of the parameters to get a good result.
The Simple Image Gallery Extended provides everything needed if you want to display images inside an article and beyond that, the developer is very active in improving it constantly, adding new features and fixing bugs.

This extension does not work with Joomla! 2.5, as it says it does. The author has posted responses to requests for help saying "wait until I publish the official version."
To see the number of sites that are effected by this error, google - in quotation marks - "You need Joomla! 1.7 to run this plugin!".
I used this extension for Joomla 1.7 and it worked fine. It does not work for 2.5 however, so I recommend finding another extension.

You must be kidding!?
The version for Joomla! 2.5 was already released on 25 January 2012 (almost with the release of the first stable version of Joomla! 2.5). The plugin has over 22.000 downloads (and that with only one release so far) and I had no complaints in the support forum at all.
You write this review two months after the release. You are probably not the fastest? ;-)
You have just to install the version 2.5-1 over the old files, that's all! Is it so difficult? If you are not able to do such stupid things, then you should not use my extensions or even Joomla! at all.
I don't support the version for Joomla! 1.6 and 1.7 anymore, because these Joomla! versions have some critical vulnerabilities.
I hope you will never use one of my extensions again, so I recommend you finding other extensions.
By the way: I personally had no contact with you. I don't know who you are.
I was looking for a HTML5 gallery for my site. I tried many galleries and none pass the validation except this!

Yes, the valid output is important for me, so I've written the code carefully.

With its "Cropping" function, this plugin is the best! We all know, we are having trouble while we have to put lots of pictures in one page. Because, some of them are vertical (ex: 1280x680) some of them are horizontal (ex:680x1280). In this case, other plugins puts pictures with no correction. SIGE is cropping the pictures with your parameters and all pictures become same size: Square or whatever you want!
