Phoca Facebook Comments Module is a Joomla! module which displays Facebook comments on Joomla! site. Users are able to comment the site on which this module is displayed.

Not much to say, I tried some other modules first, as Phoca tries to use enforced back links sometimes which completely makes "free" worthless imo, especially as it makes security harder since everyone knows you're using Joomla.

However, after trying a few others, I gave it a shot and it works great out of the box. Don't have a single bad thing to say about it, even had more features than I originally thought it did.

Works good but having some problems

Hello,

Thanks for such an easy module to use. The only problems I am having are:

1. I cannot administer the comments. In my page source it says at the top

But I still cannot delete other peoples comments as there is no delete function.

2. On Firefox the height sometimes changes and you cannot see many of the comments that are below the first one. I use the teline_iii template and I have it published in the right tabs, so a user can see FB comments or Twitter comments depending on the tab they hit. In many cases it collapses the entire set of comments when you go back and forth between tabs.

All in all good module, and there could be a solution for these 2 problems i am having.

Hi, thank you for your review, you can administrate the comments directly if you are set in the facebook application as administrator. Did you test to run the module in standard template to see if it works ok there. For now tested on many different browsers and see no such problem? It is an excellent module but it has an issue, when I recently upgrade to the newer version of Phoca Facebook Comments, the like button disappeared and in the previous version i wasn't able to post comments.

The product is good overall. very quick to install, configure and use. However, I have found one major issue with it, Facebook use the URL of the page the comments were submitted as part of their id. If you change the URL such as enable/disable SEF or your URL changes for some reason or other,you will loose all your comments and likes. Phoca support were notified about this and just said that this is the case as FB uses the URL to form their id and Phoca had no suggestions for a solution so it looks like I have now to stick with a non SEF or loose all the comments.

Hi, I think, this must be asked the Facebook developers, as this is a Facebook feature. :-(

Could be better if only t had more features that just integrating Facebook comments app. There is also a bug n Facebook comments that adds fb_xf_fragment to my URL causing pages not to be displayed. Messes up my google analytics...
There is also no way to track who is posting comments on the site.

Hi, not sure what you mean, If I look on all my test sites and user sites, everything is OK there, e.g. here:

If you think, you have found a bug, just let me know it to Phoca Forum please (with fully description, so I can take a look at it).

Sorry but I don't understand, you can see who is posting the comment on the site, you can manage the comments too.

Phoca Facebook comments works in IE, see:

You should read user guide before using it. It is a facebook feature, just see the guide how to run it in non standard browsers.

Very good module, does the job well. However there's only one missing feature I saw on a similar module: limit for the displayed comments. Can this be added too? That would be great.
