Latest News, Newsletter, Email, Content Submission

NotificationAry (NA) - get a email notification when an article or another content is added or changed

You can use the plugin to notify administrators when someone submits an article. Or/and notify users about a new published content item.

The extension has a great number of settings, so we'll try to describe several possible scenarios to use it.

Please disregard Joomla Extensions Directory information about the latest update and version - currently it doesn't automatically get the latest version from the developer web-site. So real version and update date usually is newer then listed here.

Some features

  • Works fully or with some limitations with Joomla core articles, K2 items, DP Calendar events, HotSpots markers, JEvents events, JDownloads items and so on. Can be setup to work with most joomla components, which use standard joomla event plugin triggers or even own plugin triggers in some cases.
  • Sending of emails can be restricted by categories, article ids, user groups, particular users, actions performed (publish/unpublish) and so on.
  • Notifications can be turned off in the content item. So you may edit and save the article a number of times before the final save action is performed and a notification is sent.
  • Fully customizable or hardcoded (but still customizable) mail body.
  • Mailbody contains links to view and/or edit the updated content item (user must be logged in to follow edit links)
  • Users can unsubscribe from notifications
  • Previous version of the content item can be attached to the email in several formats (DIFF, MySQL to reimport, plaintext) to compare changes and to later restore the item if needed.
  • Can send emails to a large number of users in the ajax mode, so emails are sent little by little and no timeouts or limit overcome happen .
  • Can have many groups of rules - notifcation rules for superadmins, separate rules for regular users, separate for different components and so on.
  • And so on...

Since the plugin has a number of features it has a number of settings.

Feel free to ask for support if you meet any troubles (do not understand configuration, your setting work not as expected etc.)

Very functional and very configurable, works with the kernel of joomla, but also with other extensions recognized or not. Good job !
Ease of use
It is absolutely necessary to read the documentation, it is quite difficult to understand the first time.
Quite complete, but you have to be careful. It is absolutely necessary to read the documentation.
I used this to: For an associative site, users should be able to choose content delivery alerts.

Very good plugin

Works perfect
Ease of use
Easy to configure. Took only a few minutes
Didn't need support, but I know support from Gruz is excellent.
All options have very good tooltips. No need for documentation
I used this to: Send notifications to specific usergroup about software and documentation updates.

This is not what I was searching for but it fits perfectly what I need. Having a warning every time articles, categories and menus change.
Ease of use
It is easy to use since the moment you can open your eyes. Not like me.
Asked for technical and also stupid infos, Gruz reply the same day. Peaceful, quick, efficient and now we have a updated version 0.2.16.
The documentation is implemented IN the plugin. And you just need to click. But Gruz's website and contact are also there.
I used this to: Website for a professional who's not attentive. As an webmaster, I have to check every of his changes. Perfect warning so. Many thanks Gruz.

I really like this helpful and intuitive extension. I have

It works perfectly, no problems at all.

I couldn't ask for more.
This plug-in does what it says 'on the tin'. It's easy to install, and has a very wide range of options of what to notify, and to which user, or group of users etc.

The minor downside is that it takes a while to get used to the set-up logic involved. I found some initial experimentation worked wonders and thereafter I was quickly to configure the plug-in as I wanted.

The documentation is minimal, but to be fair I don't think it would have been easy to write comprehensive help notes, much easier to experiment to get the hang of it.

If at first you don't think its working check your e-mail spam bin ! I didn't and that cost me an hour or so of wondering what I was doing wrong !

There are a few typos in the English language used in the plug-in, but these do not affect usability.

Overall a must have plug-in for any Joomla site where you have multiple front end editors or contributors.

I will install it as a matter of routine in all my Joomla sites from now on.

Exelent plugin

A plugin that should be builtin into the core.

Hope you can add some additional functionality in the future, like notification when someone submits e.g. a event from a component (like jevents).
Really helpful, but in future version will be front-end user option to subscribe on specific categories? 10+
Owner's reply: I hope yes, but I cannot promise.
I was looking for a way to get email notifications when content was modified and submitted by users, this plugin proved to be priceless. Thanks to the developer for making this possible! :)

Excellent Tool!

Downloaded the version listed here and had a couple issues so I contacted the developer who promptly supplied a response to download the 2.x dev. version of the plugin. I, like the other reviewers, think this plugin should be included in the core of Joomla. When you have multiple publishers and editors its nice to see who did what so that you can give praise or lay blame. This is an absolute must for Joomla users that have multiple publishers and want to know what is being changed on the site immediately as it happens. Plus, the support is timely and helpful! Great job!

Site Access
Hm.. A little hard to explain. Imagine, you are surfing a joomla web-site. You open a page with some content and feel a passionate desire to create an account. You start the process by clicking a login link, fill in forms and so on. Finally you perform the first login - and see your profile page instead of the article you have been viewing before you start the sign up process. This plugin redirec...

In Joomla authors or articles can edit own articles disregading publishing state. Imagine, you allow users to submit articles at your web-site. Your managers review such articles and publish it. But some day later an author was stolen by aliens/ZOG/international terrorists or other good people. So enemies got access to your users's account and could alter already published articles, e.g. by addin...
