This VirtueMart plugin is dedicated to all e-commerce that sell products definable by variants size and color.
The main feature of this extension is that, compared to all other competitors, it does nothing but create a convenient interface for creating and managing product variants (the child products) using all the features that are natively already present in VirtueMart but by automating all those processes that otherwise would have to be done by hand.
Ironically, it is possible to install this plugin, use it and uninstall it without affecting its operation of the store itself.

Minimum requirements:

Joomla 3.9.x
VirtueMart 3.8.x
It is also compatible with the new VirtueMart BE theme.

Setup

The plugin installs like any other Joomla plugin. Just follow the instructions below:
- Log in to the control panel.
- From the upper menu select the item Extensions → Manage → Install.
- Drag the vmsizecolor.zip file into the dedicated frame or select it using the button Upload the file.
Once installed, just enable and configure it from the appropriate section Extensions → Plugin.

Configuration

Once the plugin is installed, from the main backend menu, access the Extensions section → Plugin. Click on Size and Color Smart System for VirtueMart in order to open the configuration form.
The plugin consists of four main tabs:
- Plugin - Includes main setting items.
- Colors - This is the color management form.
- Sizes - This is the size management form.
- Documentation - The guide to the functions and configurations of the plugin.

Plugin

In this tab there is the fundamental part of the configuration of this plugin. It consists of four settings:
- The selection of the custom field Multi variant.
- The selection of the custom field Color.
- The selection of the custom field Size.

Once these fields have been configured and the plugin enabled, we are ready to use it.

Colors

In this tab you can start populating the list of colors which will then be available in the product sheet by VirtueMart. It is not essential to do this now as you can also add colors directly from the form product management. In any case, each color is made up of 7 fields.
- Cod. Color
- Color label
- Color 1
- Color 2
- Color 3
- Color 4
- Texture

First field (Cod. Color) has been inserted if the site has a bridge that imports the products from an external source. Color Label is the field for the name of that color or combination of colors (supports language variables) which can be set in subsequent fields (up to 4 colors + 1 texture). Of course, you can also set just the texture as a variant.

Sizes

As for the color list, the size list will also be available in the product sheet by VirtueMart. It is not essential to fill it in now as you can also add sizes directly from the product management form. In any case, each color is composed only of the Size field (which supports language variables).

How to use?

Once a parent product has been created (E.g .: Summer t-shirt) we can see that at the end of the main tabs Size/Color Variants has also been added. From here it will be possible:
- Add colors.
- Add the sizes.
- Select colors and sizes for the product in question.
- Automatically generate child variants already configured.
- Access the generated variants.
- Manage images for each variant (with multiple image uploads).
- Manage inventory.
- Manage variant SKUs.
- Manage variant GTINs.
- Publish / Unpublish variants.

All these actions do not require saving the parent product as they are done runtime via ajax. The only thing to remember is that all variants are generated without being published. It is an operation that it must be done manually (always from sight) for obvious reasons.

Questo plugin VirtueMart è dedicato a tutti gli e-commerce che vendono prodotti definibili da varianti taglia e colore.
La caratteristica principale di questa estensione è che, rispetto a tutte le altre concorrenti, non fa altro che creare una comoda interfaccia per la creazione e la gestione delle varianti prodotto (i prodotti figli) utilizzando tutte le feature che nativamente sono già presenti in VirtueMart ma automatizzando tutti quei processi che altrimenti andrebbero fatti a mano.
Per assurdo è possibile installare questo plugin, usarlo e disinstallarlo senza che venga inficiato il funzionamento del negozio stesso.

Requisiti minimi:

VirtueMart 3.8.x
E' compatibile anche con il nuovo tema BE di VirtueMart.

Installazione

Il plugin si installa come ogni altro plugin di Joomla. Basta seguire le istruzioni riportate di seguito:
- Accedere al pannello di controllo.
- Dal menù superiore selezionare la voce Estensioni → Gestione → Installa.
- Trascinare il file vmsizecolor.zip nel riquadro dedicato o selezionarlo tramite il pulsante Carica il file.

Una volta installato, basta abilitarlo e configurarlo dall'apposita sezione Estensioni → Plugin.

Configurazione

Una volta installato il plugin, dal menù principale di backend, accedere alla sezione Estensioni → Plugin. Cliccare su Size and Color Smart System for VirtueMart in modo da poter aprire la form di configurazione.
Il plugin si compone di quattro tab principali:
- Plugin - Include le voci dei settaggi principali.
- Colori - E' la form di gestione dei colori.
- Taglie - E' la form di gestione delle taglie.
- Documentazione - La guida alle funzioni e configurazioni del plugin.

Plugin

In questo tab c'è la parte fondamentale della configurazione di questo plugin. Essa si compone di quattro impostazioni:
- La selezione del campo personalizzato Variante multipla.
- La selezione del campo personalizzato Colore.
- La selezione del campo personalizzato Taglia.

Una volta configurati questi campi e abilitato il plugin siamo già pronti per poterlo usare.

Colori

In questo tab è possibile iniziare a popolare la lista dei colori che sarà poi disponibile nella scheda prodotto di VirtueMart. Non è essenziale farlo ora in quanto è possibile aggiungere i colori anche direttamente dalla form di gestione dei prodotti. In ogni caso ogni colore è composto da 7 campi.
- Cod. Colore
- Etichetta colore
- Colore 1
- Colore 2
- Colore 3
- Colore 4
- Texture

Il primo campo (Cod. Colore) è stato inserito qualora il sito disponga di un bridge che importi i prodotti da una fonte esterna. Etichetta colore è il campo destinato al nome di quel colore o quella combinazione di colori (supporta le variabili di lingua) che possono essere impostati nei campi successivi (fino a 4 colori + 1 texture). Ovviamente è possibile impostare anche solo la texture come variante.

Taglie

Come per la lista colori, anche la lista delle taglie sarà poi disponibile nella scheda prodotto di VirtueMart. Non è essenziale compilarla ora in quanto è possibile aggiungere le taglie anche direttamente dalla form di gestione dei prodotti. In ogni caso ogni colore è composto dal solo campo Taglia (che supporta le variabili di lingua).

Come si usa

Una volta creato un prodotto genitore (Es.: Maglia estiva) possiamo vedere che alla fine dei tab principali si è aggiunto anche Varianti Taglia/Colore. Da qui sarà possibile:
- Aggiungere i colori.
- Aggiungere le taglie.
- Selezionare colori e taglie per il prodotto in questione.
- Generare automaticamente le varianti figlio già configurate.
- Accedere alle varianti generate.
- Gestire le immagini per ogni variante (con caricamento multiplo di immagini).
- Gestire le scorte di magazzino.
- Gestire codice SKU delle varianti.
- Gestire codice GTIN delle varianti.
- Pubblicare/Depubblicare le varianti.

Tutte queste azioni non necessitano del salvataggio del prodotto padre in quanto vengono fatte runtime via ajax. L'unica cosa da ricordare è che tutte le varianti vengono generate senza essere pubblicate. E' un'operazione che va fatta manualmente (sempre dalla vista) per ovvi motivi.
