Google AJAX RSS module is based on Google AJAX API and displays RSS feeds using AJAX in a slideshow format. You can use the following styles to display your RSS feeds. In most of the case default style is suitable.

  1. Vertical Stacked (Default and Recommended)
  2. Vertical (No stacking of feeds)
  3. Horizontal

In latest version (1.1), you can also control the CSS to some extent from module and number of feeds has been made configurable from module settings.

If you are using the module in left, right or similar position then use any of the vertical positions. In wide positions like header positions, you may want to try the horizontal position.

Tip: Works and looks best when used within full width article using loadposition directive.

This extension is very good, useful and works almost properly. When it switches from a news to another, the navigation shows this module. I mean, if the module is on the top of the page, and we scroll the page down, when the module refreshes, it scrolls up again.

I have tried others but this one is by far the easiest to use. Only a single issue - I wasn't able to sort the order of multiple feeds. This may be my problem but other than that it is great! Thanks so much.

Easy to use and works perfectly

I'm a bad guy who never post any review on JED, but for this module I must congratulate the developer.

Installation : no problem.

Configuration and customization : easy and fast.

Works perfectly on the first try.

Captures attention while being unobtrusive.

I beg the developer to continue the updates to this extension!

It is FREE for now but I would buy il without hesitation.

This is a great addition to my Jomsocial Site. The feeds display nicely - Works as documented and easy to install and configure. I initially thought there was conflict problem in displaying the feeds with Jomsocial, only on Internet Explorer. However, I found the conflict to be with K2, which I had disabled, but not uninstalled. Sopantech quickly responded to my tech support submissions. I am very pleased with the extension and with support.

Great module

Great module. Up and running in a few minutes. Embedding it into an article was a problem from my side, but great support. They solved the problem within minutes.

Keep up the good work! I love this module.

Hi. This works great in Joomla 2.5. Exactly what I need.

First, the RSS is by far the best on the Joomla free extension list and possibly on the open source market. If you are looking a professional team, their support is friendly and timely. Great job!

Owner's reply: Thanks for your kind feedback.

Very Nice

I like this mod very much. I also would like to add to the number of feeds. I have poked around in gajaxfeeds.php and mod_gajaxfeeds.css, and was able to add a fourth feed, but all I ended up getting displayed was a duplicate feed from the original 3 despite the info in the mod parameters. If someone has a good howto on this it would be much appreciated

Great RSS reader

Nice looking... very functional... but configuration is very restricted. You cannot change many things without editing the module.

SAlexson could you send this code for making more RSS channels ?? Three is a little to small... I cannot read the code from your review :) Anybody knows the code for increasing the number of RSS channels? I need 10 and even more....

Is there any documentation for editing the module?

great module

I was able to reroute the js file and change the number of articles to retrieve from a feed but what I'm wondering now is how to change the size/ammount of words of that article to be displayed while its in the spot light.

Also would love an update to support images from the feed.

UPDATE (Oct, 2014): JConverter 1.5 supports import of images from Wordpress to Joomla. It also supports importing same URL alias from Wordpress in Joomla so you can keep same URL in new site with minimal changes. UPDATE (Jan, 2014): JConverter 1.4 supports importing comments from JComments for 3.x version now. UPDATE (Sep, 2013): JConverter now Joomla 3.x compatible and is available as part of the JConverter download package. Please note that 3.x compatible version does not support import of comments from Wordpress since JComments is not yet compatible with 3.x. JConverter is now 2.5 compatible with many bug fixes and some awesome new features. Here are some new features added in 2.5 version. 1) Supports importing nested categories from wordpress. 2) Associates posts with categories in Joomla after imports. 3) Supports JComments integration for importing comments. 4) Supports setting a new password for users while importing users. As the name suggests, JConverter allows you to convert your WordPress blog into a Joomla site. It can import users, blog posts, categories, pages and even links from your WordPress blog to Joomla. It's very easy to use. Just install it, select the options you want to imports from WordPress and click on "Start Conversion". It queries the WordPress database for blog posts, pages, users, links and categories and converts them to Joomla format. All in just one click. This is BETA release and there are some new features planned in future. As of now, there are certain limitations of JConverter which you can find under configuration panel of component. IMPORTANT : Though you can import your WordPress site in an existing Joomla site, it's ideal for creating a fresh Joomla site from an existing Wordpress site. In such case, install the latest Joomla version WITHOUT SAMPLE DATA, install JConverter, provide the configuration details and import. This extension is built on top of mtwMigrator to avoid reinventing the wheel since it was very close to what was needed for JConverter. Thanks to Matias Aguirre for building such a useful extension.

YouTube list module allows you to show selected Youtube videos in a list/dropdown format. Users can select the video they want to watch. This is ideal for showing related videos on your Joomla site. For example, you may want to show videos related to a specific event. Possibilities are endless and this module will be a good value add to your website, if you are planning to use videos on your website. The description parameter of the module accepts BB code(Bulletin Board Code) which is quite common in forums. Using BB code, you can give an appealing touch to the module looks.
