Content Submission

The User Article Manager (UAM) gives users the ability to create, edit and publish items from a list of articles displayed in the front end of a Joomla! Installation. The project has been forked from the popular Frontend User Article List (FUAL) extension written for Joomla! 1.5 by Felipe Quinto Busanello (the details of which can be found at http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-production/content-submission/8656.

Further release history can be found on the website

Briefly: in Joomla! 1.5 Authors were able to create and edit their own articles (in any category); Editors could, in addition, edit articles created by other users; and, finally, Publishers were the only users who could publish or unpublish articles. From version 1.6, article categories can grant a mixture of ‘Edit Own’, ‘Edit’ or ‘Edit State’ permissions to the defined user groups. A user may have ‘Edit Own’ permissions for some categories and full ‘Edit’ permissions for others. ‘Edit State’ can be distributed to yet a third combination of user groups and categories. The full range is decided by the site administrator when setting up categories and user groups; readers should refer to the Joomla! documentation for the full details.

The UAM aims, for any given user, to collect the editable articles and display them in an accesible manner.

The UAM gives all the front end facilities that you need and works mostly well.. There has been no version for J 3.6.x and some dont work

Ease of use

This is very easy to use and includes features to add, edit and delete articles. There is a bug that you cannot restict the categories

Not convinced about this - issues have been raised, which have no updates provided -not convinced that it is still supported in timely way

Good documentation

I used this to: It enables users who are administering content to not require backend access, which is really useful.

Desperately hoping the category issue gets resolved as this is an issue for our user administrators

Some features do not work, even were reported here on the page.

Ease of use

Good features for common users

The functionality to restrict a new article to a category was not working due to a silly mistake. Just make a component override and change:

file uam/default.php, on line 92, replace by:
[...] && ($this->params->get('restrict_to_category') == '1'))

Managing by category, author, or published/unpublished works great. If you do a keyword filtered search, it won't filter.

Ease of use

Simple interface

Seems that the support and support site has been dead since 2013...

Very little documentation on this extension. Good luck searching for fixes with issues you might have. The support site is dead.

I used this to: Use: for searching articles (soon to be removed)

Totalmente funcional

Ease of use

Não requer muito conhecimento para utilizar

I used this to: Todas as vezes que precisei oferecer acesso a criação e gerenciamento de artigos pessoais sem dar acesso a área administrativa e com segurança pelo frontend, desde a versão 1.5 do Joomla, esta ferramenta sempre foi a melhor que conheci e ainda com a sorte de ser gratuita.

There are some problems that prevent important functions!

Ease of use

Very easy and intuitive to use.

I used this to: If the items are located in subcategories are not hidden from the user even if the component from the set to menu. Some filtering options not work.

Include articles from subcategories > Not work
Restrict article creation to selected category > Not work

Lots of small bugs and a big one(a user can see and edit others articles even if you set the setting to No). Problem reported but no reply. Development seems dead since 2013. Too bad, this is what we needed for our editors but had to uninstall it because of the bugs.

Awesome to resolve a blackout in joomla in order to achieve this! Great work thank u so much for the comp!

I wanted to enable all my blog's author-level users the ability to view and edit all their articles from the same page, published or not. I just installed this extension and set the respective menu item and BAM! Problem solved! I didn't even need to tweak extension's settings.

The only thing easier than using UAM is to give it 5 stars.

I am developing a Portal, where some user will have the power to edit and create articles. I was having a problem, there isn't a way to create a menu with the users' articles only (so simple, so basic and Joomla doesn't offer this kind of menu item yet). After trying to find a solution, I've bumped with UAM.

Very simple, direct, easy to install, fast to setup and does the job very well.

If I could point something that could be polished is the layout, which could be done using divs instead of tables, to acomodate better with responsive templates, aside this tiny little detail, the component is brilliant.

Thanks for offering such a great tool for free.

Very Good

but I miss the option for auto publish the articles.

I have a website where 50+ users should write from the frontend. There is no way to superwise all of them, but I don't want to give them "Publisher" right (the are now Authors). Is there a way to make auto publishing possible?
