Introduction

Communication, PMS

uddeIM allows users of your community to send Private Messages to each other (note that uddeIM is not a webmail component nor an email client). uddeIM wants to be simple and easy-to-use but it offers all the features you need in a Private Messaging System (PMS).

uddeIM is available in 34 languages. It integrates seamless with Community Builder, Joomlaboard, AlphaUserPoints, Fireboard, Kunena, JomSocial, Joo!CM, Agora, and Ninjaboard.

uddeIM runs on Joomla 1.0, 1.5 native, 1.5 legacy, 1.6, 1.7, 2.5, 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x.

The list of features is endless and includes features like:

* Local-, Global-, Restricted Distribution Lists,
* General- and System-Messages,
* RSS Message Feed,
* Autocomplete Names,

All features are configurable.
Importing messages from most other PMS components is possible.

On the project homepage you will find screenshots from the backend interface which shows all options and features.

There is a comprehensive FAQ available that covers lots of issues with uddeIM on about 100 pages.

I've used uddeIM for many years and it has always been one of the best extensions on Joomla. I use it for every site with PM needs.

I love this message system it's fantastic and is great for any Joomla websit.



The only thing that is missing that would be nice to have is integration into the Contacts for Joomla.

Couldn't have asked for a better PMS for J2.5!

This is a well thought through and intelligently built piece of software made with the user in mind. After reading the README (yes, it helps!) the install was a bliss. And when I started it, it was everything I would expect it to be. In 15 minutes I tailored it to my perfect liking and sent a donation to the owner without any hesitation. It deserves every penny and more. I use it with integration with CB on a site for a closed community where people want to keep their profiles and communications private and brief. Great job!

Extension simple and working.

Easy to customize, and I am not a expert coder.



Have all that you can need for user message services and also more.



I am using it in a ecommerce where single users can add and sell object and the site owner can manage and check any transation, UddeIM is perfect for enable communications between all the users!!

Using uddeIM in Joomla 2.5 and 1.5 since 2010.

Advantages: large number of settings, integration with Community Builder, mass mailing, sending e-mail notifications of received messages

Disadvantages: not currently identified.

Excellent extension for instant messaging. Perfect for creating a community or social network.

Support - not used.

I use this extension on the site of postgraduate study and my personal blog .

Engaged in web technologies since March 2007. Use Joomla since December 2009.

I used this extension in Joomla 1.5 and was excellent!

Now i'm trying to install it in Joomla 1.6 and i have a small problem.

Extension installs perfectly but the Administration menus cannot be created "Error cannot create Administration menu"

I'm sure that i installed the correct version of uddeim "com_uddeim_j16.zip" any help please?
Owner's reply: Please do not use JED as a support forum. You will find the solution for you problem in the official support forum (first sticky):

You will get this error when you try to install the Joomla 1.0/1.5 package on Joomla 1.6 and better.

This is a good clean PMS, but be sure to go through the documentation (like for every other extension available). There are features that can be added to make this more complete but considering that it's free, it does serve the purpose.

One of the long lasting PMS extensions in joomla. I really like it. Has of course much parts that can be improved, but if you need a PMS that works and do not want to customize much - this is the choice

I just tried this extension today and i can say it's an excellent one.



Easy to install, much more features even i didn't try all of them they seem to be very useful especially if your website host a community



Keep this extension up to date like you do til now
