Admin Tools is a true Swiss Army knife for your site. Our freely available Admin Tools Core fix your files' and directories' permissions, protect your administrator directory with a password, migrate links pointing to your old domain on-the-fly and perform database maintenance, all with a single click. Now with Joomla! 5 support!

We have two currently maintained version families. Admin Tools 7: Joomla 4, PHP 7.2 or later. Admin Tools 6: Joomla 3.10, PHP 7.2 or later. Older versions for end–of–life versions of PHP and Joomla available without support on our site.

A commercial edition (Admin Tools Professional) with extra security-oriented features is also available from our site for a fee. This listing is about the free version, Admin Tools Core.

The software is free of charge, its support is not. You need a subscription to request support. However, its documentation, the troubleshooting information, video tutorials and searching the public tickets is free of charge.

Note: Admin Tools 7 is actively supported on Joomla! 4 and 5. Admin Tools 6 for Joomla! 3 is on security maintenance (no new features or bug fixes will be released).

Functionality
This extension is an absolute MUST HAVE for any Joomla site. It has helped to not only improve performance on our site, but has blocked countless attacks and attempted hacks to our sites. If you only buy one extension for your Joomla site it must be this one.

The .htaccess maker alone is a reason to go with Pro (let alone all of the other goodies).
Ease of use
The extension is extremely easy to use, but you should have some knowledge of security hardening to get the full benefits from it.

I really like this and other tools by AKEEBA. Unfortuanately they decided to remove the JOOMLA UPDATE feature in this tool.



AKEEBA always had it right, even when my backend was saying differently.



Please reinstate JOOMLA UPDATE and then it is back to 5 stars!!
Owner's reply: The Joomla! Update feature was removed from Admin Tools because its code was contributed back to Joomla!. In fact, it was included in Joomla! 2.5.15 and 3.2.0 (and later versions will still have it, of course). Think again before you penalise an extension developer because he decided to contribute his code, for free, to the very software product you use for your business. I would recommend that you read the "Motives for writing free software" (http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/fs-motives.html) to understand why the blackmail tone of your review is inappropriate and deeply offensive to this developer.

A must have for anyone with a website. My only problem is when combing the Java files my banner ads stop working as they contain Java apart that amazing. Big well done

Every solution they have works and is vital for every Joomla website out there.



There is no words to explain how many times this component paid for itself and the other solutions I use. You have to go for PRO version and support them!
