TitleLink Plugin

** TitleLink 3.2 released **
** new option to disable partial search **

TitleLink is a must have to link between Joomla! articles without using cryptic hyperlinks. TitleLink also minimizes the risk of breaking article links when changes are made to the target article. In contrast to other extensions TitleLink doesn't need the article ids to find your article - so you always get exactly the right links. It always dynamically finds the right hyperlink to your articles! To learn more about this great plugin have a look at the always current documentation: http://www.gesellix.de/joomla/36-titlelink/46-titlelink-documentation.html .

Currently supported components are:
- com_alberghi ( http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/alberghi/ )
- com_artforms ( http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/jartforms/ )
- com_content ( Joomla! )
- com_docman ( http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/docman/ )

Hyperlinking to pages should be so simple ... but it isn't! This simple bit of kit is THE business. Simple, quick and it works!
Support is quick and excellent too, realized I was typing 'in' (for insert) instead of 'ln'(for line) once I got that sorted it couldn't have been easier.
Well done Tobias and I agree this should be standard in Joomla.

This is A very good plug-in, Just I like it.
Well. I was struggling for a couple of days to get a proper internal linking structure. I never wanted to created a menu link, but I just needed to publish a page and then link it internally, I had tremendous internal links and the tinymce or JCE is useless. JCE is worthwhile but if you want SEF url's then it will drain the juice. This title link plugin was just a fly, It did miracle, I was able to link to the content item in seconds by just a single command of {ln:} I was further surprised to see that my SEF url was seen when i put a mouse over the link !!! That was the best !!! It should be the core !! I will be the first person to vote for the core for this plugin !!

Enjoy Team !! Excellent Excellent work !! If I had more words to appreciate it I would have given it !! Keep it up and Up and UUP @ :)

I was upgrading a clients site from 1.0 to 1.5 and found this plugin was used on the 1.0 site with several hundred links.

Thank goodness there was a 1.5 compatible version.
I simply uploaded and activated it, and all the links started working perfectly again.

So I discovered this plugin by chance.
Very nice indeed !

Thanks Tobias for this great Plug-in. Easy to Install and Easy to Understand, working perfect in Joomla 1.5.7 (legacy mode)
Now my clients have not panic when crates internal and external Links.
I recomend this for all User.

This is what a support should be like
Installing Titlelink 3.0.7 with my Joomla 1.5 some of the links worked, some did not and I could not figure out why. Writing a short email to the develpoer, Tobias he could fix the problem together with me within minutes - Thanks a lot! This is what a support should be like!

Especially without an editor this plugin is very useful. Without editors you cannot use editor plugins and buttons so other solutions won't work. TitleLink gives you the possibility to link to other articles and even external sites without using popups.

Great!

TitleLink is an indispensable tool! I have used in on every site I have built for the past 2 years.

How else can you generate a dynamic link that can adjust to changing locations and domain names? This is it! With TitleLink, I can set up all of my internal links at the development site and they still work when we move servers or transfer domain names. And if I move the section or category for an article later on, then the link still works.

Plus, the developer, Tobias, is the best. I contacted him with a problem I was experiencing with V3.0.5 in J1.5.x sites, and he replied IMMEDIATELY and worked with me to find a solution. And this is a FREE extension!! I WISH I could get this kind of support from some of the commercial extensions that I am using!

(By the way, if you had a problem using TitleLink in your Joomla 1.5 site, please try again using version 3.0.6. You will not regret it.)
it generates as many duplicate ids as many links you put in different articles, (tested in j!1.5, SEO on) as it is not capable to link to the page where article is already and uniquely published.

It generates a page under the same page where you put it and your url will have id# instead of title of article. So it is not fully sef.

if you really want parametrized links to articles (not a good pratice as your pages don't have be dynamic or internet would be a land of 404) you can use :

article

even it is a bad way for the id# and duplicate, you can still decide where to put it and don't need to install nothing, and they are not much more characters to digit.

Anyway wiki and other features worths the install.

bye

ricc.

Can you please explain your comments a bit? Where does TitleLink create IDs? Which IDs? Did you use the Joomla 1.5 SEO extension or an additional one? And I don't understand your comment "even it is a bad way for the id# and duplicate, you can still decide where to put it and don't need to install nothing, and they are not much more characters to digit.".

Please give me a chance to clearify this. The best would be to create a tracker item at Joomlacode or you can contact me by mail.

Using features like parameterized links to pages is optional. If someone uses it he has to know what to expect...

Anyway thanks for commenting.

Tobias

I've just installed the plugin in 1.5 RC3 and so far it works beautifully. I have tried both links to internal articles by title and to Wikipedia by phrase -- no problem. It's great that the plugin allows changing the separator, since several of my titles contain colons (:). I'm impressed by the number of ways the plugin link can be specified, including opening new windows, defining the class of the link, searching any one of a long provided list of sites, even appending an anchor reference. The developers have clearly used the plugin themselves extensively, and have made it very versatile. Highly recommended!

This is really a nice plugin. I had trouble creating external links to my content. This one helped me and works like a charm.

Keep up the good work guys!!

This is such a time saver. You can easily create links in your content to other items and web sites.

Exactly what I needed for userfriendly linking, and it works great! I simply use the syntax (link:Welcome to Joomla!).

There's even a component that converts your syntax if changed.

Thank u so much!

Works great and is so easy to use!

Liked it - easy install and use - made linking so much easier!

Yes, I do think this is a lovely plugin. I have only just installed it and worked through info to see how it works, but allready this seems like a sensible tool!

This is really a must have. If you ever want to link to another content item in an easy way, you have to try this.

If it could be upgraded to work in combination with Joomfish, it would be wonderfull. At this stage it can't be used on a multi-lingual site.
Owner's reply

It can be used on multilingual sites, when caching is disabled.

With the new update, you can now use simple brackets [ and ] to contain a reference to another page [Joomla Extensions] or to a Shortlink [Google News]
It's so simple it's turning my sites into pseudo wikis without the hassle of another component or bridge.

I love this extension, it's truly indispensable.
As your site grows in content, how can you manage all those internal references to existing pages!!?
{ln:calendar} {ln:register} etc. are so easy to use, it's almost like having wiki power in your site.

Of course if you have a lot of references to Wikipedia and many other external DBs like dictionaries, google etc., you can do all that here in a snap. Truly amazing
