Description:
This is a simple-to-use module that is used to list the contents of a folder in either a table or a list. The folder listing can display the filename, with or without the extension, with or without the date modified and file size, as well as a icon representing the file type. It has the feature of allowing the user to specify whether the filename listed should be linked or not.
Main features:
> List files in a specified sub-folder of the Joomla root
> Show icons for file types
> List files in either a table or a unordered list
> Sorting in Acsending or Descening order, by filename, date modified or file size
> Option to show/hide size, date, or date and time of the files
> Option to link to the files or not
> Option to specify a list of file types that should not be listed
> Color scheme of the table rows and border can be customized
> Module Manager colors available through custom Color Picker
Usage:
To use this module as content in an article, first ensure than the loadmodule plugin (Content - Load Module) is Enabled. Second, give an arbitrary Position to the Easy Folder Listing module, such as 'x_list', and configure the parameters. Thirdly, in the article, type '{loadposition x_list}'. Please ensure that the Menu Assignment is set to 'All' or to the specific article that it is to be displayed in. To control which types of users have access to this module, set the Access Level in the module.
1. "Choose the Parent Folder": let the folder path /root. Example: http://my-site.com/download/
1a. What i mean is this: let us, as users, to choose where the folder with the files/images/whatever wanna be
2. Do not use colors for raws.. let us choose. Some of us have different module styles (css styled) and your colors overrides the styles.
Other than that, it's one great extension. Congratulations!
even worst after uninstalling it, my Article editor is not working any longer.
I have installed and uninstalled various components/plugins/modules, but this is just a a total mess.
Be warned!
Dear Reviewer,
Thanks for taking the time to post a review on JED. I was surprised to read it, as I have never received any prior support request regarding your problem. As a matter of fact, I am not too sure what your problem is exactly. However, I invite you to provide a more complete description of your problem at my support site. Literally had my first listing on the screen in about 30 seconds including the install.
My church does PDF weekly newsletters, and this is the PERFECT way to list them in the weekly news section.
Great work, thank you!
This is exactly what I needed.
I am combining this with Content Tabs.
When using Easy Folder I place it in a fictitious module of the same name as the folder I want to list, and then I load that module position in my articles or tabs.
to learn about this search for joomla modules inside articles.
My Hats off to the creators, great JOB!
Over the past 3-weeks I've tried four different similar-purposed mods and plugins. Easy Folder Listing is by far the best, for the following reasons:
1. It works with 1.5x and 1.6
2. It actually installs without any hassle
3. There are fare more features and means of customizing the display
4. The author has been immediately and helpful in getting this newb up to speed on myriad of my own challenges.
If the thought of individually typing and linking dozens -- if not hundreds -- of documents, this is the plugin you want and need.
Still need option to show "љњерт" (utf-8 or unicode) chars in the file name and Open in a new window option.
Otherwise, I found no other module that does what your module does as easily. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks
