Additionally the sorting order can be set to every text field (input box) of your directory, so you can use the module as a Sort Entries by Field Module
You can use all kind of modules by using the module several times for one or more sections.
The module has its own template with own CSS. All data for vCards are available also in the module.
Following languages are available for this app and included in the package: English, German, Polish.
This application is available within a SobiPro club membership among with many other club extensions for SobiPro.
Note: Installs using the SobiPro installer (recommended) or via the Joomla! extension installer

It works as described listing all entries in your section but I am lost as to why they did not code it to allow the selection of just categories.

Yes, version 1.0 does not yet have the category option. The roadmap states that this will be implemented later.
We are the opinion that it is better to release a software earlier with only a few features and implement other features later, than letting the users wait for a long time until they can use the software at all.
