A good example is a computer or a bike which consists of different parts that the user has to select.
# Features #
• Groups of products could be created either connecting a group with an existing category of Virtuemart or selecting manually the products of that group.
• Compatibility check functionality in order the user to select only compatible products. This functionality is based on tags between products.
• Division of the products selection process into steps (pages)
• Predefined product bundles could be created from the backend and added to cart with 1 click.
• A group could have a predefined default product selected as suggestion.
• Works also with attributes (VM1.1.x), custom fields (VM 2.0.x) and Child Products (Items).
• Overlay effect for displaying the final products that could be represented as sets of layers. A good example is a t-shirt with a stamp which consist of the t-shirt and the stamp.
• Everything in one screen. Select products, view the details of the selected product , select attributes if any and add to Cart. All these in one screen using AJAX functionality.
• Backend configuration of the display style using tools such as color palettes. This eliminates the need to edit and write css code.
• Works with Virtuemart 1.1.x and 2.0.x

I don't give often a review but for this component and developer I will do! The extension works great, easy to install and easy to configure. I had a question/modification and the reply was very fast and useful.
They are right on there way to building a complex product builder with an easy to use system. I´m sure when they (if) build in a multipage feature for real complex tasks it will be a feature that virtuemart is missing entirely. A real great product and great responce to any special problems you might have.

I installed Product Builder on our Joomla/VM 1.9.x Site at the end of 2011, the support was great then and now with Joomla 2.5/VM2.x the support is still as good as they come.
Sakis has put together a great product, with the new features built into VM 2.x it has made PB even easier to use.

Sakis went above and beyond expectations with the support. This extensions helps so much with the virtuemart limitations on attributes. I am going to order this extension for all my ecommerce websites. Im usually not a fan of commercial extensions but the support that come with this one is well worth it.
It is an excellent component, now our shop has the big possibilities and convenience to clients. Also I like fast both qualitative support and consultation of the developer!

I had a problem with double tax to include into the same product. Product builder solved my issue. Moreover, I asked them to adapt the extension for a specific need I had, they were very helpful and reactive to make sure the extension could fit with my requirements.

very good component which works very good in the virtuemart enviroment. you can make your own predefined multiple configurations of for instance pc parts, and you only have to alter the price once in virtuemart. had some hickups with the installation. looks like a conflict with "Onepage checkout". I disabled Onepage for the moment. needs a virtuamart hack to function properly (provided for free). currently looking for a way to group similar products together in smaller group for a more attractive presentation of long product lists.
