Functionality is great; I can use it on Mac or Windows and I love the ability to track and engage with my customers via the mobile app

Ease of use

Very easy to get up and running fast and the Admin area is simple to navigate.


Excellent support; fast to reply with any questions, and very helpful.


Documentation is nicely laid out and explains how to configure all the options well.

Value for money

I know of at least one other commercial (non Joomla) script that costs 10x what this one does and there is no difference in functionality.

I used this to: Providing pre-sales support to my web customers and website tracking for Analytical purposes.

Setting it up was ok, once set up its a great product, very user friendly


Couldn't fault it at all, I used support a couple of time when setting it up. they were great

There's plenty to access either by way of YouTube or Active Helper's website.

Value for money

Considering that many sites have monthly fees per seat, this product is priced very well.

I used this to: Day-to-day communications with customers through our website.


Works just as described.

Ease of use

Interface is intuitive. Installation was seamless the first time; had a couple issues the second that were cleared up quickly.


Fast and good. Gave access to my site and they went in and identified, fixed, and explained.

Works great. Users like it and the back end allows you to easily customize the branding and the user's experience. 5 stars for sure.

Ease of use

A breeze to use and configure.


I had a little trouble getting this to work with my local Joomla install. Peter was phenomenal and had it working in just a few minutes!


Well documented with a variety of options to help you get going.

Value for money

You can not beat this value. Seriously. I had not even paid yet and Peter provided exceptional support to help me get going.

I used this to: Chat support on a locally hosted Intranet site.


Does everything we need and more! it's great that there is windows/mac/iphone and android apps as well!

Once you get it up and running it's very simple to use! I only had a couple of hiccups in the setup process due to something being unclear.


Excellent support, they helped me through the issues I had with setup and were extremely responsive to my questions.


Pretty good, there was only one piece I misunderstood because I don't think it was very clear, but support helped clarify quickly.

Well worth it, I like that you don't have to use a third party service.. it's all entirely self contained so there's no monthly fee

I used this to: We purchased this for a client that uses it for their online training area.. This is so that someone taking an online course can ask for assistance in real time.. They are thrilled with the functionality and they've only just started to use it.


I think activehelper component is the best as chat support. It is a complete software to support customers and to create reports about chats

Can't praise their support (thanks Peter).

Our host made some changes on their Firewall which blocked some javascript loads. Peter went to huge lengths to get this fixed even though we bought the software over 18 months ago and is a Joomla 1.5 site!

Highly recommended!!!!

We have purchased several Joomla software over the years, but this is one that stands out for two reasons

1. The Software works for what it is advertised for and then with some more. It is based on a simple architecture that is easy to install and operate, working on multiple platforms including PC, Mac and Android. This ensures ready availability of connecting with current and would be customers.

2. The customer support is A+. Had a minor issue installing. Peter went in personally and sorted it out for me. Hassle free.

Now if that is not a package deal for the delivered service of this software, not sure what else is.

I am not a web developer but I have a very complicated website so when I decided to introduce a live chat option I had to make sure it wouldn't upset any of the other parts of my site and it had to be easy to install and operate.

After doing a lot of research I found Active Helper and read the reviews. This decided me. Having excellent support is crucial for me and even though it took me a few hours to install, set up and start testing (becaue I'm not a developer), I had the bones of everything working but with a few glitches I couldn't figure out. I emailed the problems to Peter and overnight (because we're in different time zones) he fixed them. I woke up the next morning and it was all as I wanted it!

The only thing that is missing is documentation for the Support Panel that runs this program. That would have saved a lot of my questions to Peter.

I agree with other requests that it would be good to block my IP as a lead.

I will definitely recommend Active Helper to my web developer.
