Introduction

CMSPatrol Backup creates local database and file archives for your Joomla site. FREE backs up on demand on your server — no Cloud account. Optional PRO packs add schedules, restore, remote storage and CMSPatrol Secure Storage in a German data centre (Hetzner), after licence activation and explicit consent.

What it does
CMSPatrol Backup helps you recover a Joomla site: database dump first, then website files in a ZIP, in timed steps so the job survives PHP limits. Archives stay under your control.

Exclude directories you never want in the archive. Production schedules work best via CLI cron (php cli/joomla.php cmspatrolbackup:run) or the local continue URL. Large media may need CLI; web steps keep requests under proxy limits.

Compatible with Joomla 5 and Joomla 6. Uses the Joomla Update System. GNU GPL v2 or later.
