Introduction
FastCache is the evolution of the FastCache 1.0.x plugin originally developed by HOST S.p.A. (Host.it).
The current version introduces a complete caching and optimization system designed to significantly improve website performance while reducing infrastructure load.
The extension is no longer limited to CDN integration only. It now includes all the features expected from a modern caching solution, integrated into a coherent and modular software layer.
⚡ Full Page Caching
FastCache implements a native full page caching system based on the generation of static HTML versions of pages.
Cached pages are served directly by the web server through .htaccess-level redirection, completely bypassing:
• PHP execution
• Database queries
• CMS core loading
This approach drastically reduces CPU and RAM usage, freeing system resources for operations that require dynamic processing, such as:
• Cart and checkout
• Order management
• Form submissions
• Searches
• Critical application processes
The result is improved site stability and better handling of traffic spikes.
🌍 CDN & Smart Cache Management
FastCache integrates a proprietary CDN managed by HOST S.p.A.
Communication with the CDN is handled through a unique authentication token assigned to each website, enabling:

• Automatic synchronization between local cache and CDN cache
When content is modified, FastCache automatically invalidates:
• The updated page
• The homepage
• Related categories
• Associated archives, RSS feeds and sitemaps

It is strongly recommended to disable other caching plugins or extensions to avoid overlap or conflicts.

FastCache implementa un sistema nativo di full page caching basato sulla generazione di versioni HTML statiche delle pagine.
Le pagine in cache vengono servite direttamente dal web server tramite reindirizzamento a livello di .htaccess, evitando completamente:
• L’esecuzione di PHP
• Le query al database
• Il caricamento del core del CMS
Questo approccio riduce drasticamente l’utilizzo di CPU e RAM, liberando risorse di sistema per le operazioni che richiedono elaborazione dinamica, come:

FastCache integra una CDN proprietaria gestita da HOST S.p.A.
La comunicazione con la CDN avviene tramite un token di autenticazione univoco per ciascun sito, che consente:

• Sincronizzazione automatica tra cache locale e cache CDN
Quando un contenuto viene modificato, FastCache invalida automaticamente:
• La pagina aggiornata
• La homepage
• Le categorie correlate
• Archivi, feed RSS e sitemap associati
Questo meccanismo consente di mantenere TTL ridotti garantendo contenuti sempre aggiornati senza interventi manuali.
