A Content Uploader account is required. The extension does nothing without it. The service has a permanent Free plan and paid plans for more connected sites and larger monthly allowances. The connector is free software under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later. The service is not part of the extension and is covered by its own terms and privacy policy.

What it does

• Map spreadsheet columns to article fields once, then upload the file again whenever it changes. Every change is shown for review before anything is published.
• Sets title, alias, intro and full text, status, featured, access, language, created and publishing dates, meta description and keywords, author and note.
• Creates missing categories (nested) and tags, parent first, and refuses ambiguous or trashed matches.
• Sets intro and full article images from a ZIP of images, web addresses or the site's images folder. Each image is delivered once.
• Sets custom fields of the supported types, limited to the categories they apply to.
• Saves through Joomla's own article model, so permissions, text filters, content history, tags, custom fields and Smart Search behave as when an editor saves.
• Later uploads update the articles it created. They never create duplicates.

Security and privacy

• Connecting needs no Joomla password: a user who may manage extensions approves a one-time pairing, and the site issues a separate, revocable access key. Keys are stored as hashes only, last 90 days and can be renewed from Content Uploader.
• It publishes as an account you choose, and can do only what that account may do in Joomla.
• Installing sends nothing to anyone. Joomla's update check is the only automatic contact. No visitor data and no analytics are collected.
• Disconnect, or disable the web services plugin, and access ends at once.

Requirements

Joomla 5.0 or later (tested to 6.1), PHP 8.1 or later, MySQL 8.0.13 or MariaDB 10.4 or later, HTTPS and the PHP cURL extension. PostgreSQL is not supported.
