Add OG Tags to your Joomla articles! Easily boost your content’s visibility on social media! This plugin adds Open Graph (OG) tags tab to your Joomla articles, where you can define custom OG Title, OG Description and OG Image for each article individually, ensuring they look great when shared on Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and more.

What's new in 1.6.1:

Smarter, safer OG tag handling on category and blog listing pages — tags now stay scoped to the correct article instead of following the last item in a list. Automatic fallback added: when ogtitle/ogdescription/ogimage are left blank, they're now filled in automatically from the article's title, meta description/intro text, and intro/full-text image, so every article gets solid OG tags with zero manual setup. Expanded tag coverage with og:type, og:url, og:sitename, og:locale, and og:image:width/height. Full Twitter Card support added (twitter:card, twitter:title, twitter:description, twitter:image, twitter:site), plus optional fb:app_id for Facebook's Sharing Debugger and analytics. New global plugin settings for finer control: toggle fallback on/off, set a default fallback image, adjust description length, choose Twitter card type, and set your Twitter handle / FB App ID. Improved output safety with HTML-escaping on title/description. Polished the install screen so the plugin description now displays properly instead of a raw language key.

Functionality
I wasted hours with Gemini trying to code something inside Joomla exactly for this, and then I found this plugin and it works great.
Ease of use
Can't be easier, white on the new tab the necessary info, select the photo and that's it.
I used this to: Defining the correct Preview image for Facebook, so that when I include links on my posts they show the image I want.
