Introduction

Social Web, Social Share

The Social Media Share module displays social media icons that visitors can click to share a page with their own social network via social media. The module has 6 Icomoon icons (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Email and Pinterest) that can be styled via CSS or make use of the Layout Override for Font Awesome icons.

Social Media Share module

Features

Most Social Media extensions had too much options for me. Some of them download JavaScript from external sites and call back to social media sites to show how many of your friends have shared / liked the page. Besides of a performance decrease because of the loading, it can also cause privacy issues. Therefore I created a small social media share module with only the functionality that I needed.

Share button only

This Module displays Icons with hyperlinks to make it easier to share the page via Social Media. It does not use JavaScript, nor does it communicate any information to the social media websites if the buttons are NOT clicked. When a visitor clicks on one of the buttons, it opens a small window from that social media. The visitor can change the text and link to your page, and share it with their friends.

Easy configuration

In the back-end of the Module you can configure the order of the buttons and visibility (to make an icon invisible, set order to "0").

Image icons or CSS icons

You can choose between Image icons that are optimized for accessibility or CSS icons. When you choose CSS icons, you can load the default CSS, or choose to add the CSS to your own template CSS (for better performance). An url to an image (e.g. your logo) can be set in the "
URL of Logo for Pinterest" field.

It uses PHP date format to format the date/time. It has an update notification & can be updated using Joomla's one-click-update. Latest version: db8 Social Media Share J3.x v2.6 [23-December-2014] - Added filter="raw" to mod_db8sitelastmodified.xml to make it possible to add HTML code to "Text before/after Date" fields. ** db8 Site Last Modified for Joomla 2.5 (native) ** The Site Last Modified date and time are based on the creation and modification date and time of the articles in your site, and it takes into account the websites & users timezone level. It has been tested on Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 1.7.5 (It might run on 1.6 but has not been tested). ** db8 Site Last Modified for Joomla 1.5 (native) ** The Site Last Modified date and time are based on the creation and modification date and time of the articles in your site, and it takes into account the users access level and whether an article is published or not. It uses PHP strftime date/time format (for date/time display in localized format, based on selected language). Text (and HTML code) can be added before AND after the date/time. And the Joomla 1.5 version has 5 language files on board: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish. ** db8 Site Last Modified for Joomla 1.0 (version 1.0)** This module displays a global "last modified" date that informs the visitor when the last change was done to the site. It displays the last modified/created date of all articles, regardless their access level and publish state. The module has three parameters: * Module Class Suffix (for individual module styling) * Label (for any text, but only in front of the date) * Date/time format ( Formats the date value according to the MySQL format, so only limited date/time localization possible ) Note: both versions do not display any other changes, e.g. in Section/Category or Modules: * The date+time of changes in Section/Category descriptions are not stored in the Joomla tables. * The usage of the checkedouttime of User defined Modules wasn't implemented in this module.

When developing websites for customers I always have to do the same things to configure and optimize the website before putting it live. The awesome Live Checklist created by Rene Kreijveld has proven to be a great tool to keep track of everything that you have to do. It's a list of things you have to do to configure and optimize your Joomla website. However, the list is an offline one that you can use next to your computer. What if such a list would be inside the website you were developing? I decided to develop this extension to have such a checklist tool within the website that is under development. Website developers can add their own checklist or Generate a default Live Checklist. db8 Site Dev v0.9.3 consists of an Admin Component and Admin Module and is available with the following language packs: - en-GB (UK English) - da-DK (Danish) - de-DE (German) - fr-FR (French) - nl-NL (Dutch).

This Administrator Module displays a list of 404 Errors in the back-end Control Panel, so the errors are clearly visible for Webmasters right after login. The Module retrieves the lists of 404 Errors from the Redirect Manager. With the Module webmasters become better aware about incoming traffic to non-existing pages so that they can redirect those to working pages. The Module has a couple of configuration options: number, order, order direction of the 404 errors, and the Redirect Status: All, Disabled, Enabled, Archived, and Trashed. The default is to show a list of 5 Errors, Disabled (= 404 errors that have not yet been redirected), ordered by number of hits, starting with the most hits. With this default setting a webmaster will notice the non-existing page with most traffic best. Creating redirection for those will probably solve most future 404 errors. Note: In order to display 404 Errors, Joomla's Redirect Plugin should be enabled. Installation: Extensions > Extension Manager > [Install] Extensions > Module Manager > Filter [Administrator] > [New] Configure Module: under [Module] assign to Position "cpanel" & under [Advanced] set Bootstrap Size to 6. Language files included: de-DE (German) en-GB (UK English) es-ES (Spanish) fr-FR (French) nl-NL (Dutch) Change log: Version 1.1 [28 January 2015] File: mod_db8404errors-j3x-v1.1.zip Corrected language packs & added 3 new languages (French, German, Spanish) Version 1.0 [28 January 2015] File: mod_db8404errors-j3x-v1.zip First release.

With Options Manager you can re-use all your Component, Module, Plugin and Template Style settings on your new Joomla sites. How do you configure the Options in your new Joomla Sites? Do you still configure them manually? Joomla displays Articles by default with Author + Category + Date + Hits. I don't like that and switch it off via Content > Articles > [Options]. Always. I have been doing so for every site since 2005. Over-and-over again. Use Options Manager to save time! Because I hated the "over-and-over again" part, I developed a tool to easily Export and Import those** Options**. For all Joomla + 3rd party Components that support Joomla's Options. For Plugins, Modules and Templates. How are your Menu Item Options configured? Joomla! allows the configuration of Global Options for installed Extensions, as well as individual modification of these Options on a per-menu basis. Over time, it can be difficult to recall what settings are Global and what is per-menu – and to figure out how something has been configured can be tedious! You must go back into Options via each Extension or via Global Configuration, and then check relevant menu items to see if there is a modification or not. What is Options Manager? Options Manager allows you to easily see an overview of all Extension Options: Component Options Plugin Options Module Options Template Style Options even for 3rd party Extensions as they follow the Joomla way for storing Options. It even exports the license keys of components like Akeeba Backup and JCE editor so you can easily import them at your other sites... Additionally, these Options can be exported for use on other sites. - a real time-saver for developing multiple sites! Requirements Joomla 3.5, 3.6 or 3.7; PHP 5.5, 5.6 or 7 Developed for Joomla website builders and administrators. No more tedious clicking on Options. No more unexplainable Menu Item issues. = Save Time!

db8 HREFLang correction (for Joomla 3.x) This Joomla 3 system plugin corrects the Hreflang tag in your Joomla site. The Hreflang tag To determine the Language + Locales (target audiencce) of your website, the Hreflang tag is used in the HTML source code of your website. You can have an English language website, but targeted at a specific area: * en-GB - English language for the Great Britain area * en-US - English language for the United States area * en-CA - English language for the Canadian area * en-AU - English language for the Australian area Incorrect hreflang implementation Some language packs, like Arabic, have no valid Locale tag. If you have a Joomla website with the ar-AA Arabic language pack and your using Google Webmasters Tools then you might have had a warning about wrong hreflang tag. From: Google Search Console Team sc-noreply@google.com Subject: Incorrect hreflang implementation on http://www.example.com/ To: Webmaster of http://www.example.com/, Google has detected that some pages on your site have implemented the rel-alternate-hreflang tag incorrectly. In particular, there seems to be a problem with incorrect language and region codes, or incorrect bi-directional linking (if page A links with hreflang to page B, there must be a link back from B to A as well). Google uses the hreflang attributes to serve the correct language or regional URL to the right users in search results. Until you correct the errors on the hreflang links, your website will not benefit from additional language or region targeting. Fix this problem now: Find incorrect hreflang implementations Use the examples provided in the International Targeting feature in Search Console to get a sample of pages with incorrect hreflang implementation. Fix incorrect hreflang You can manually change the Hreflang tag in the Language Pack of your site and in the Extensions > Language > Content Language of your site. However next language pack update will be a problem. This plugin replaces the set hreflang tag retrieved from your content language with a hreflang tag of your choosing. When a page is displayed the plugin looks in the HTML source for a language tag, e.g. ar-AA and replaces it with the language tag of your preference (e.g. ar-EG for Arabic Language for Locale Egypt).
