Functionality
Meets all of our IT staff and users needs. Very versatile.
Ease of use
Extremely easy to use.
Support
Ryan is wonderful. Responds in a matter of hours and goes way beyond other support services.
Documentation
Good documentation and plenty of tutorials online.
I used this to: Government (County) website.

Update notification does not work

Functionality
I have still version 2.6.8 on my web because update does not work. I checked my other webs and update does not work too (about 8 webs).
Ease of use
It is easy.
Support
No support, only for subscribers. Forum is available only for paying user.
Documentation
I do not need it.
I used this to: My personal websites.

Functionality
It is an excellent editor.
Ease of use
I had to upgrade to the Pro version recently and I find uploading and adding images more difficult than it used to be.
Support
If you don't buy a subscription you can't post on the forum - big thumbs down on that one. Also sent email to developer and got no response.
Documentation
I'll assume the documentation is still decent. It used to be and I haven't looked at it in a long time.
I used this to: I was getting errors trying to upload images after the most recent free version update and I had to purchase a Pro subscription just to be able to post my problem on the forum which I ended up not having to do because once I updated to the Pro version the error was gone.

Functionality
Very versatile and configurable.
Ease of use
Self explanatory, you know MS Word or Open Office, you know JCE
Support
Support questions are asked via the forum, but it's surveyed constantly by the developer, who is very reactive and efficient.
Documentation
You don't need it, but you'll find tutorials, wiki and forum on the website.
I used this to: All my sites (dozens), no exception.

WYSIWYG editor stops working

Functionality
When it worked for one or two days it was great! But then it gave me a "code editor" with no functionality. I uninstalled and reinstalled.
Ease of use
When it worked it was fine. Then it had a min of its own and crashed.
Support
You must purchase to register and ask a question on the forum.
Documentation
I did not find any troubleshooting information to fix the issue.
I used this to: Article creation... But not anymore.

Ease of use
Very clear and now the fact all plugins are merged in one install make the initial install easier.
Support
Very good support, very reactive and follow the customer by adding new improvment without breaking the compatibility of previous versions.
Documentation
Not needed, very simple.
I used this to: All my sites, the new version 2.6.6 is the best revision i saw, i don't understand the guys who cry because they need to pay 25€/year to have developper function, terrible to see this.

Essentially a paid extention?

free version is essentially same as Joomla core editor except with some useless option buttons and ad plugins!
Go pro or go home on this one
Ease of use
same as joomla 3.6 no added features

Regretfully after updating from 2.5.x to 2.6.6, some functions have been removed and are now only in a payable version available
Ease of use
Was always easy to use.
Support
No support to the free version! Not even possible to write in the forum
Documentation
Would be good for the pro version
I used this to: I use the editor in all my websites. But I will not update to the newest version or their already installed downgrade to 2.5.x. I can not use extensions which automatically updates and remove functions without any notice in advance.

The best editor I use from 2008

Version 2.6.x is an advance. And I find it normal to pay for a product and service of this level. Yes well-there are adjustments to be made on versions 2.6.x but Ryan shows us his skill and I encourage him to convey that knowledge accumulated d

Functionality
Features are removed from the 2.6 free version e.g. some buttons. Downgraded back to 2.5.31 to get them back. It's still a powerful editor.
Ease of use
Does all you want except some quick buttons that I use all the time have now been reduced to time-consuming drop-down boxes.
Support
Non-existent for the free version. You can read the forums but not post.
Documentation
Context sensitive help is good.
I used this to: General Joomla article editing. I was using 2.6 but downgraded back to 2.5.31 because the quick-access buttons (e.g. table row and column add and delete) were unavailable in the free 2.6 and I use them all the time.
