Fabrik gives you the power to create forms and tables that run inside Joomla! without requiring knowledge of mySQL and PHP. Then feed your data into Google Maps, Charts or an AJAX based calendar.

With Fabrik you can create CCK applications that range in complexity from simple contact forms to complex applications such as a job application site or bug tracking systems.

Top Gun in CCK

Excellent - I wanted a CRUD type CCK - got way more from Fabrik

Ease of use

Small learning curve for simple applications. They have good tutorials.

Suggest you pay for the premium support (cost effective) for a month or two. Helps the learning curve. The support was fast and accurate.

After using Joomla/Mambo for over 8 years, I haven't seen excellent documentation - ever. Fabrik's documentation is good.

I used this to: ISO CAPA application, Conformance tools, Manufacturing Quality Reports, Lab management system - all intranet apps.

Versatile and handy

Lists, forms, groups and elements of so many types

Ease of use

Easy for basics, some learning for advanced, but you'll discover that you can just do about anything

Community support is very reactive

Wiki. Sometimes you'll have to dig to find new ways to do things with a new version

I used this to: Advanced community sites

Out of the box, Fabrik gives many options to manage your data the way you want it. The fields have many options to fit your needs.

Ease of use

If you are already familiar with CCKs, this will be easy to learn. It's loaded with tips for each option to describe the different functions

Documentation is provided that explains everything for the forms, lists, and elements, and other features.

I used this to: Anything.

There is a learning curve, but taking your time and using the wiki will help a lot. The forms have worked great for several years.

Ease of use

Learning curve, yeah. Once you understand the underlying logic, it's easy to create a form to do just about anything you want.

The Fabrik experts are great. Found almost every solution in the forum or wiki. Other issues have been addressed and eventually solved.

Wiki could use some fleshing out, but overall very helpful.

I used this to: Entry forms, registrations, databasing to share skills among my membership.

Great functionality, very powerful, simplifying and speeding up complex programming of simple tasks!

Ease of use

Needs some first learning courve, however after this it will be fast and easy to use for people with enough understanding of data modelling,

No answer to emails/contact forms although a subscription was purchased

Pretty good documentation, seems worked out and well detailed enough to understand the basic structure.

I used this to: Intention is creation of forms and lists for easy maintenance of site relevant data, orders etc.

I'm a huge fan of Fabrik. If the information is in the database, it can be pulled out and used in a list or form on the website.

Ease of use

Fabrik is not the easiest program to learn, but once figured out, it is powerful and straightforward.

I've struggled with the documentation, wishing for more details and trouble-shooting instructions.

I used this to: I've made several lists and specialized apps for a writing website, including lists of stories without reviews and an app to help writers learn the components of a short story, as well as an app to support the bookstore we're developing.

You can pretty much find a way to do anything you can think of with this extension. Very impressive.

Ease of use

A fairly steep learning curve to do more sophisticated things but you would expect that of something so powerful and flexible.

Have had help with all my questions on the forums. Its worth getting a subscription if you are likely to need help quickly or a lot of help.

Documentation and tutorials available. Some empty parts on the wiki but nothing vital is missing. I like the coding examples, always helpful

I used this to: Developing my own database driven online application
