Embed Google Docs Viewer is a plugin for embedding one or more Google Docs Viewers (http://docs.google.com/viewer) to Joomla articles. By using Google Docs Viewer it's possible to quickly view documents online without leaving browser. Google Docs documents

Supported Google document formats: document, spreadsheet, presentation, form, drawing, file.

If you want to embed a document stored in Google Docs do the following.

  3. Click File -> Publish to the web
  4. Copy the link from the "Document link" field.

The above steps don't work with forms. To embed a form do the following.

  1. Sign in to your Goole Docs account.
  2. Open the form that you want to embed.
  3. Click Form -> Go to live form.
  4. The form opens in a new tab/window.
  5. Copy the URL from the browser's address bar.
  6. Paste the URL between the google_docs tags.

Base URL

In the admin panel it's possible to define a base URL for the documents, which makes embedding the documents even easier as there's no need to type in the full URL for each document.

Hello!
I get this plugin to work in Chrome but not in Safari and iOS...

Is there a way to get it to work or is it only Chrome?

Owner's reply: Hi,

The plugin should work with Safari and you're the first one to report this problem. Unfortunately I don't have the possibility to test the plugin with Safari and iOS. Could you send the version number of Safari that you're using and the URL of your site so I could try to reproduce the problem. You can contact me via email (dinky_jackson(at)hotmail.com).

Best regards,
Petteri

We've got some user guides for publishing and maintain Joomla! in Goolge Docs, due to excellent co-writing capabilities.

Then copy and pasting such docs into an Joomla! article are tedious, especially on many sites.

This plugin solved our distribution problem perfectly, by making an application in ZOO that can be distributed to all our customers. Thank you!

Does not work.

I have tried to get this to work but, it's simply not working.

My install is Joomla! 2.5.19.

I have tried both Single Article and K2 Item. Neither work.

Owner's reply: Hi TekMiL, I'm sorry to hear about your problem with the plugin. Can you please post a more detailed description of the problem at the support forum?

Petteri Kivimäki

Thank you!!

This product works exactly as expected and makes it a breeze to embed Google docs like spreadsheets, etc.

Easy to install and setup. Use to display PDF documents from own web site rather than google docs. Works well, apart from sometimes PDF documents timeout when display, although PDF documents display immediately when try retry option.

The product works like it suppost to. Easy configuration and easy to use. There was a very small problem, but the developer was quick to respond. The problem was not related tot the extension but to some problems with Google. He showed me a work-a-round.

I'm a happy user!

The title says it all. Solid product that really does what it says. Super easy to use. Not at all complicated.

Support is great. Super fast, super informative and my questions was a no brainier one and he did not make me feel dumb for that. Thanks again and keep up the great work!!!!!!!

Best,
