Introduction

Component for dispaying maps by Google Maps v3 service. You can also use module and plugin.

You can
* create and display any numbers of maps, placemarks
* multilingual interface
* configurate many settings (Zoom, Map Type, Map Type Control,
Double Click Zoom, Scroll Wheel Zoom, Zoom Control, Scale Control, Traffic Layer, Bicycle Layer, Transit Layer)
* create any routes (use Directions API) and paths (use polylines)
* set you custom image on placemark
* you can specify KML Layer for map (field on map tab), just write URL for KML or GeoRSS
* you can also display not only one KML Layer and control its behavior
* markers can include site reference and image, and HTML code
* you can use marker clusterer (markers grouping when map zoom out)
* you can group placemarks and show|hide all group with addition control, create many clusters with its own icon
* you can use MarkerManager functionality to show|hide markers depend on zoom
* you can use OpenStreetMap layer
* you can use Places API
* you can use Elevation API
* you can use contact and user information in placemarks
* you can use New Zeland Topomaps layer
* you can use OpenTopoMap layer
* you can use plugin to call from K2 items
* you can add custom map types and use it

You should keep in mind - the extension archive is more than 2M: The File Size Upload Limit (uploadmaxfilesize) on your Web Server might be set to low to allow larger files to be uploaded. By default PHP allows files up to 2 MB.

Functionality
Great functionality except HTTPS doesn't work. Testing http vs https would cause the map to have secure/insecure content and not display.
Ease of use
Easy to setup and configure.
Support
Just couldn't find a normal ticket/email system to submit support requests.
Documentation
Easy to follow
I used this to: projecting where our volunteers/adopters and fosters are to get a heat map. Allows us to be top-notch with technology and our adoption base.
Owner's reply: Hi. Extension supports HTTPS, but a few predefined map types were load its tiles by HTTP. Now it fixed and there is no any message about insecure content.
As for ticket system - I can implement it (probably), but there is "Support" button, which link to my support forum ;)

Functionality
I'm only using a tiny bit of the functionality, so I can't really talk about that.
Ease of use
Very easy to use, can be used as a module or as a plugin.
Support
This was fantastic. I suggested a possible enhancement, and the author went ahead and implemented it within a few days. Top marks.
Documentation
Documentation OK, although I'm using such a tiny bit of the functionality that I hardly needed the documentation.
I used this to: Providing a map showing where my office is on the "contact page" of my website.

I used this to: I use the component for Joomla 3.6.5. The component is as a nature of things rather complex and I needed some time to find out how to get it to function.

Especially I had a problem about how to get an URL for a hyperlink. Anyhow I solved the problem and now it functions

I used this to: Indicating our stockists for customers to find their local.

I have only just started using this and have around 400 places to add. Is there a way of importing multiple places from a csv file or xls file, please? That sure would make life easier.

I have used this twice -- on the FIRST Joomla! site I worked on and again, recently. It was easy enough for a novice to figure out in spite of it's complexity! Now that I have some more experience, it is a piece of cake! If there is anything difficult, it is that there are an amazing number of options and functionality that can be used. I spent a bit of time yesterday just reviewing all the demo maps and I was absolutely amazed at what could be done. For both the sites I have used this with, it was simply to show client locations. From my first use two years ago, it appears that a lot has been added to it. I have never had a problem. And, it's responsive!
