MCP for YOOtheme Pro turns your Joomla site into a server your AI assistant can talk to. Claude, Cursor, Codex, Gemini and other MCP-capable assistants work with it. They list your pages, read a layout, add and move elements, bind dynamic sources and publish. You describe the change in a sentence. The assistant does the clicking.

I built this because maintaining forty pages by hand is the part of YOOtheme that does not scale. Design stays yours. Checking, fixing and repeating does not have to be.

What your assistant can do

• Run many sites from one conversation. Joomla and WordPress side by side. Your assistant checks every site in one call and switches between them as you talk.
• See your whole site at once. Which pages are invisible to visitors, and why. Which module renders where. What a logged out visitor really gets.
• Write into layouts safely. Every write carries a lock and a version check, so two changes never overwrite each other silently.
• Bind dynamic content. Native Joomla sources and API Mapper sources go into elements. The answer names the node that now carries the binding.
• Start from the YOOtheme Pro Library. Whole layouts or single sections go onto a page, with placeholder images or the curated ones.
• Turn a designed section into a dynamic page. Copy it, swap in a data source, keep every design detail.
• Check the result before visitors do. Render a saved layout and confirm your change actually reached the page.
• Preview before it deletes. Every destructive operation shows you what would happen, names what is nested inside, and names the tool that brings it back.
• Bring pages back from the trash.
• Audit in one call. Heading structure, missing image alt text, thin content, duplicate layouts, broken anchors, low contrast.

What you need

Joomla 5 or 6, YOOtheme Pro 4 or 5, PHP 8.2. Node.js 22.15 or newer on the machine where your assistant runs. Install the package, generate a Bearer key in the admin, run the one line setup in your AI client.

Free, and open

It is free today and stays free. I would rather every YOOtheme user have an assistant that can work with their site than keep that behind a paywall for a few.
