Advanced plugin for creating thumbnails with a simple to use. You need only insert original image to text and resize to necessary size.

Features:
- create thumbnail and replace original image to thumbnail;
- support of graphic libraries: GD2, ImageMagick, GraphicsMagick;
- add link for pop-up window: Slimbox, Slimbox 2, Magnific Popup, uikit Lightbox, Highslide (for non-commercial sites - http://highslide.com/#licence);
- add link to full text in blogs;

Плагин для создания превью изображений. Для создания превью достаточно вставить в текст оригинальное изображение и уменьшить его до необходимого размера перетащив за угол в редакторе либо указав размеры в аттрибутах тега.

Возможности:
- создание превью и замена оригинального изображения;
- поддержка графических библиотек: GD2, ImageMagick, GraphicsMagick;
- всплывающие окна для просмотра оригинального изображения: Slimbox, Slimbox 2, Magnific Popup, uikit Lightbox, Highslide (только для некоммерческих сайтов - http://highslide.com/#licence);
- добавление изображению ссылки на полный текст статьи;
- возможность указать размеры по умолчанию;
- вариатны уменьшения: вписать в рамку, заполнить рамку обрезав края, сжать у учатом площади (а не линейных размеров), сжать без сохранения пропорций;
- обрабатывать изображения только/за исключением указанного класса;
- обработка изображений с других серверов;
- добавбление мета-тега og:image;
- задание разных настроек для разных контекстов: категорий, статей, модулей и т.п.;
- пропуск изображений внутри ссылок.
- совместим с Joomla 1.5 - 3.x.

Для разработчиков:
- весь html-код может быть переопределен в шаблоне сайта;
- вожможно использование собственных типов всплывающих окон (они автоматически появятся в настройках);
- возможно написание собственых обработчиков для контекстов (например добавление ссылки на полный текст материала);
- генератор превью отделен в отдельную библиотеку и может использоваться самостоятельно в расширениях или шаблонах.

One of the best plugin to resize images. It reduce page loading time and bandwidth use. Should be installed on every site.

I am pretty new to Joomla having only developed three sites with it to date. Felt I had to leave a review for this as it just works so well.

Couldn't be simpler to install and use and the visual effect is great too. Can't think of a negative.

This is an absolutely perfect little extension that functions perfectly and creates simple, excellent thumbnail galleries inside an article.

I highly recommend this to anyone, particularly Joomla n00bs.

This extension is excellent: as soon as it's installed and the plugin is activated, it works smoothly with no additional configuration necessary. I use mootools menus and some article slider modules, and this doesn't seem to conflict with anything, which is also a nice benefit. I use JCE as my wysiwyg editor, and I was glad to see that no extension specific plugin was required.

It would be nice if there were a support forum.

I'm using this extension in a site for a State Park, in which I'm using SobiPro as a directory for the park. Unfortunately, when I add entries via the Sobi editor (also uses JCE wysiwyg), Mavik Thumbs doesn't work. I saw the post below about editing the Joomla 1.5 template to get it to work in categories, and I assume this is the same sort of issue.

Is it possible to do the same work with categories

Owner's reply: In categories plugin work only in Joomla 1.6
In Joomla 1.5 you must rewrite template of categories.

A great plugin to manage your images and save you from manually generating thumbnails!

I really love this plugin. It performs a feature that should be in core Joomla! It saves me from having to manually create thumbnails and then presents nicely sized images to the users of my site.

Unfortunately, this plugin sometimes gives an error on some pages when using the highslide option. It shows up as a javascript error 'hs.addSlideshow(. . .) with hs not defined'. Not sure why. Support is hard to find as the author's website is not in English and I can't find an email nor contact point. But I work around this for now by not using highslide. If this error was fixed, it could earn an excellent!

Very Very good.

Only one things is missing for me.

I'm using the option "For image not resized" to put the max size of image in an article.

But if the size of the image is forced to big... It should be cool to resize it...

In one way, i would like to have the option "For image (resizd or not) bigger that the default size".

Should be great, not ?

I really appreciate your work.

I would like to let you know that there are two issues with Firefox 4.0/Chrome. When I use Slimbox mode is not showing the pictures properly (25% only). No problem with earlier versions of those browsers. Also there is one tiny thing when I use Higslides mode. It is showing transparent png images even when I exclude them using the advance parameters. Joomla Modal is working just fine on any of those browsers.

Hi, thank you for providing this plugin. It is what I was looking for, and it is easy to use and works perfectly.

I had a warning message displayed on the index page, and I could not understand why. I sent an email to Vitaliy, and he replied back to me quickly, and solved the issue! I cannot express how much I appreciate to Vitaliy. He and his plugin is my life saver! Thank you so much :)
