AwoCoupon Starter is a reliable component for Virtuemart that makes coupons easy to use and manage. Although Virtuemart has coupon capabilities, they are not extensive enough to cover what many people would call basic coupon features. AwoCoupon Starter fills this gap. Some of its features include:

Product specific discounts
Category specific discounts
Customer specific discounts
Trigger the use of coupons if a minimum cart total is reached
Set expiration dates for coupons
Restrict the number of times a coupon can be used by any given user

I used this to: I needed coupon codes for individual items and categories of items. I needed codes to expire and be able to create on the fly for special promos. It works perfectly with Zen cart!!

Functionality

AwoCoupon fills in the gaps left by the built VM coupon system.

Ease of use

Easy to set up for overall coupons or for specific products in % or $ amounts.

Support

Developer contacted me quickly when I could't figure out how to configure a payment problem with Paypal when coupon was 100%.

Documentation

Free version is so intuitive you really don't need - even for a non-developer new to VM.

I used this to: I recently migrated a Woocommerce shop to VM and was disappointed with the builtin coupon functionality. The free version filled all the capabilities I previously had and once my shop is up and running, I'll upgrade for more features. Great product and great customer service!
