Media Organizer
Introduction
Find, review and safely clean up unreferenced media files in Joomla — evidence-based, with reversible quarantine and a guarded deletion path.
Media Organizer scans your media library for files that no longer appear in any content, module, template or third-party extension, and helps you remove them safely. For every file it shows where it looked, what it found and why a file is considered orphaned, so you decide on evidence, never on a guess.
Nothing goes without you.
Nothing is moved or deleted unless you select it and confirm. Reversible quarantine is the default; permanent deletion passes twelve independent checks and a single-use confirmation token. Where coverage of an installed extension is incomplete, a coverage gate blocks destructive actions rather than risk a wrong deletion. The scheduled scan task and the command line can find and report, never delete on their own, and a scan never writes to the file system.
Evidence instead of guesswork. Every file has a detail view listing the places that were searched and the hits that were found, with links straight to the article, module or template that uses it. Detection covers core content and the common third-party extensions through reverse-engineered profiles, and reports openly where a profile is missing rather than assuming the file is unused.
More than clean-up.
Duplicate detection, an optimisation report with an in-place optimiser and an interactive image editor (crop, resize, rotate, brightness and contrast — reversible, with the original backed up before replacing), a command-line interface for scheduled maintenance, and a 404 monitor that records hits on quarantined paths as extra deletion evidence.
Administrator-only and strictly local: no data leaves your site, and no external service is contacted.
