Introduction

Graphs and Charts

Plotalot uses the Google Charts API to draw many types of charts and tables, using data from SQL queries or CSV files.

  • Line graphs, scatter graphs, and area graphs with multiple plots
  • Horizontal or vertical stacked or grouped bar charts ...
  • 2D or 3D pie charts and donut charts ...
  • Gauges, timelines, bubble charts, gantt charts, calendar charts, combo charts, candlestick charts, org charts, tree map charts, geo charts, and annotation charts
  • Supports both Classic and Material Design charts
  • Legend at top, bottom, left, right, or none
  • Optional grid
  • Titles and axis labels can be simple text or SQL queries
  • Axis limits can be automatic, fixed, or SQL generated
  • Charts can be responsive, and can refresh automatically without re-drawing the whole page
  • Three types of tables, including fully responsive CSS tables
  • Single items merge data from your database seamlessly into articles
  • Query the local site database or any other supported database
  • No libraries to install, just a component and an optional plugin
  • Charts can be cached on your web-server to reduce database load
  • Plotalot can be built in to your own code to add charting to your own extensions

Functionality
Plotalot offers all possible functionality for graphing, tables and interactive charts.
Ease of use
Plotalot is quite simple, although in some instances one needs an understanding of graphs in general.
Suitable for beginners.
Support
I haven't required support as the documentation is adequate. When I do require support I am sure Les will respond timeously.
Documentation
The documentation is recommended. and first class. Detailed descriptions and step by step guides provide direction when required.
I used this to: I use this plugin to depict graphs and tables as required. I find it suitable for every requirement so far.

Das sehr vielseitig einsetzbare Plugin erlaubt Daten grafisch darzustellen.
Ease of use
In der Dokumentation finden sich ausführliche Erklärungen. Es braucht SQL Kenntnisse, um die richtigen Abfragen zu erstellen.
Support
Excellenter Support, der innerhalb weniger Stunden (selbst am Sonntag) eine gut umsetzbare Lösung retourniert!
Documentation
Die 89 seitige Doku ist englisch und sehr ausführlich und auch gut verständlich geschrieben.

Lots of ways to use it. Lists, Graphs of all sorts.
Just think of a way and it does it.
Ease of use
Very user friendly. The included client examples have lots of different ways.
Support
Excellent Support. They answered questions about SQL that really was not their area.
But they wanted to help
Documentation
Excellent. Very thorough documentation. Plenty of examples to choose from

Functionality
Offers an easy integration layer for Google charts visualization with a straight forward and intuitive configuration dashboard.
Ease of use
The component use is very intuitive. The API took a little exploration to fully understand although once understood, implementation is easy
Support
I had one query around the API which was speedily answered by support despite my not having purchased the API support license.
Documentation
Comprehensive, accurate and up to date. If you get stuck, with a little reading you should find the answer in the documentation.
I used this to: Plotting, visualizing and presenting IOT instrumentation data. It really is a well written and well constructed component. It deserves the full star rating it has, in my opinion.

Functionality
It works well and it's quick and easy to add plots and tables to a website. The caching is a great feature.
Ease of use
It's easy to use and the documentation goes over everything well. It even has a sql primer and the google docs give all the plot options
Support
Had 1 question and a response within a few hours, so I'd say that's great. Now I wish caching was more advanced, but I can live with it.
Documentation
Top notch documentation. I skimmed over the pdf doc before I started and that gave me the basics and go back to it when I need help. A+ docs
I used this to: Making plots and tables of stats of dynamic weather data on my website, including wind speeds and yearly stats etc. I have to stop myself from adding plots now...I think I've gone a little overboard lol. I recommend this extension highly, thank you for making it.

If you make correct SQL queries, then Plotalot extension can chart them.
Ease of use
For users with low programming skills, like me, it is a very intuitive tool.
Support
Most of the replies are in the same day and the next day as latest.
Documentation
Clear, concise, and focused. Very easy to look for the way to do it what you want.

Functionality
Easy to use once you understand the way how it works.
Main reason to use addon was because it's working without java and on any plattform

knowledge of mysql very helpful to design your own charts and visual reports
