Smart Cookie Notice for Joomla! is a lightweight Joomla! system plugin that displays a clean and responsive cookie notification banner to inform visitors about cookie usage.

The plugin is designed to work seamlessly with Joomla 6 and integrates naturally with Joomla templates using Bootstrap 5. It also includes fallback styles, allowing it to work even on templates that do not use Bootstrap.

Once a visitor accepts the cookie notice, a cookie is stored in the browser and the banner will no longer appear.

Installation Instructions

Download the plugin package.
Install it via Joomla! Extension Manager.
Go to System → Plugins.
Enable System - Cookie Notice.
Configure the plugin options if needed.

Important Notice

This plugin displays a cookie notice banner and stores acceptance in the visitor's browser.

It does not implement a full cookie consent management system or block scripts automatically. Websites requiring full GDPR consent management may need additional tools.

Functionality

Super simple yet complete, except it would be great if we can have an option to change the header title as well without the overriding it

I used this to: To get acknowledgement and consent from my site visitors. It can be used as other purpose if we can change the title within the configuration page itself later.

Owner's reply: Thank you for the great review!

Starting from version 1.0.14, the banner title can now be customized directly from the plugin settings without overriding the code.

If the title field is empty, the plugin will automatically use a fallback title.
