ConfigPort
Introduction
Export and import the settings of many Joomla extensions at once, from site to site. Preview first, undo from a snapshot.
ConfigPort exports and imports Joomla extension settings. You can copy module settings, plugin settings, component options and template style settings to another site: staging to live, one client site to the next, or a development copy to production. Install it on both sites.
A file from an older Joomla major version also imports into a newer one, for example Joomla 3 into Joomla 4, 5 or 6. The preview shows a notice. A file from a newer major version can only be previewed.
One export file holds many extensions together: components, plugins, modules and template styles, up to 1,000 items. One import previews all of them and applies them in one step. You choose merge or replace for each item.
ConfigPort saves a snapshot before every import and every restore. To undo an import, tick the items you want back and restore them. A restore saves its own snapshot, so you can undo a restore too.
Other details:
- A preview of every setting the import would add, change or remove, before anything is written
- Items found by what they are, never by their id on the other site
- Values that look secret, such as passwords, stay out of the file unless you include them
- Permissions are never exported or imported
- Export and Import buttons on the edit screens of plugins, modules and template styles, and on the Options screen of a component
- Exports, imports and restores in the User Actions Log
One package runs on Joomla 3.10, 4.4, 5.4 and 6 (no Backward Compatibility 6 plugin needed), PHP 7.4 to 8.4, MySQL or MariaDB. ConfigPort makes no network call of its own. It is free, under the GNU GPL version 2 or later.
