Far too tedious and very slow support

Functionality

It offers excellent functions, however, quite a bit of legwork is needed to execute some of them; far more than I had banked on.

Ease of use

Their other software is good, so I assume this will be one day. But it is not easy to use yet, unless just used as is out of the box.

Support

Waited days for replies. My 1st issue (menu) took 3. 1 month & 4 slow tickets later I asked for a credit or trade in my final ticket.

Documentation

Good for installing etc. there is quite a bit to setting up the software though.

Value for money

None. I wound up purchasing elsewhere. This package sits in a folder on a thumb drive.

I used this to: Nothing yet. I'm sure one day there will be a use, and will check back for improvement. Dev can take offense (many review similarly) make excuses, rebut, or maybe just take notes.

Owner's reply: Please, be sincere - you submitted a ticket during the weekend and naturally since we don't work weekends you had to wait until Monday for a reply. Other than that, looking at your ticket history, I can see longer turnaround time from your side - even no longer replying to a ticket because, and I'm quoting here:

"I am on the road and often have days between internet access availability. The ticket below is not yet resolved.. but has been closed. Please review and continue forward now. "

I understand why this might feel that it took months to resolve, but we tried our best given the circumstances (tickets are closed after a period of inactivity - that's usually once every one or two weeks). And then you insisted with each reply on getting a refund because you did not understand how to use RSDirectory! - that's fine, RSDirectory! is very flexible and given its wide range of options it might get a little scary getting used to it.

That's why we're here - to help. It's a shame you didn't accept our help - the real issue was that you were in a hurry delivering the website - and instead of learning something new, you opted to use another extension that you already were familiar with. I hope you'll give RSDirectory! another try, in the future, and we'll be here for you :)

Functionality

Many things not work like popup for example, they said i need change my template to use their extension or solve problem by myself.

Ease of use

I Just stopped at the first stage.

Its terrible and they don't help you at all, they said you must change your template because you are using bootstrap3!!!!, unbelievable!.

Owner's reply: Actually, this is a long debated issue. Joomla! ships with Bootstrap 2.3.2 which is no longer supported by the Bootstrap developers. Even though in our opinion Bootstrap 2.3.2 is fine as it is even today (take a look at the current Joomla! Extensions Directory - guess what version of Bootstrap it's using and I'm going to give you a hint - it's not newer than 2.3.2), template developers like to go beyond that and use the latest technology.
That's fine when you use just the template along with the template overrides they've done for the core Joomla! extensions (they're also using Bootstrap 2.3.2 so they have to create layout overrides for each and every one of them), but it becomes a problem when you try to use another extension that's following the Joomla! standards. And in this case, people tend to blame the extension developer rather than the template.

Niet zo eenvoudig , maar gewoon mee aan de slag gaan. Al doende leer je snel.

Support

Is zeer goed. Meestal binnen een uur al reactie met goede tips en bruikbare info. Die kunnen je echt op het goed pad zetten.

Documentatie hoofdzakelijk in het Engels. Deze kan ook wat uitgebreider maar in geval van onduidelijkheden is het support weer voortreffelij

Is goed

I used this to: Vooral om te testen. Ga dit waarschijnlijk gebruiken voor zakelijke sites die wel hun product willen promoten maar niet direct een webwinkel willen.

Functionality

It does have some great potential, for what it does, it's definitely above average and could definitely reach 100%

Ease of use

It's easy to use, but if you're looking for something more advanced, you really need guidance.

Support

Wish they'd take seriously requests or even offer custom services. It's been a week since I posted on their forum, and yet no response.

Documentation

They have gone in some great detail :) Have definitely put a lot of work on this.

Value for money

However, i wish I was able to test before i purchased, as for what i need it .. it does need a lot of custom work done.

Owner's reply: Support is not provided on the forum. There's a big bold message saying just that on every forum page, don't know how you missed it. I will give 100% when it is completed with ajax image upload.

Ease of use

Good template engin. It needs some JQuery knowledge. Create an html special template field and "appendTo" other fields in it. It rocks!

Support

RSJOOMLA support is professionnal. They have nothing to prove. Every body know RSFORM and RSFIREWALL.

Documentation

Could be better but RSDIRECTORY is so easy that it doesn't really need a detailed doc.

Value for money

No need to buy addons like soby. It's all out of the box.

Functionality

Robust, comprehensive directory component perfect for my B2B client sites!

Ease of use

This extension is great out of the box, but also has lots of extensability for customizing the look, feel and delivery of the entries.

Support

I was looking to really capitalize on the customization, and got in a bit over my head. RSDirectory support was prompt, friendly & helpful!

Documentation

This extension is meticulously documented and Support will always point you in the right direction if you can't find what you're looking for

Value for money

Comparatively speaking, this can't be beat!

I'm so impressed by this component. The support I have received from Andrei, Cosmin and Adrian has been outstanding.

The component is really well thought out and you are able to create complex listings and the features this component offers far out weight anything else on the market - I've used most of them. The support has been excellent I couldn't have been happier - they have help me with setting up some pretty complex adjustments to the core - not that you have to make any changes this thing just works straight out of the box. Excellent component and service - keep up the good work RSJoomla!

I created categories for my directory and created my menu structure so that when a user wanted to post something on the site, that menu link will take them straight to the form with the category already set.

I was having some trouble getting this to work so I opened a ticket. From the day I opened the ticket, I got nothing but very, very quick responses. After trying a couple of suggestions, the site still didn't work as I imagined it will. I replied to the ticket that night providing a temporary admin logon to my site and when I awoke the next morning, my problem was resolved!!! This extension stands true in that anything you can imagine that you want in a directory service, you can create.

Excellent customer service…..very, very hard to find in a company nowadays. Thanks to Adrian and the RSJoomla family for an excellent product and great customer service.
