VirtueMart is a highly configurable and customizable multi-language shopping cart solution for Joomla 3, 4, 5 with a large number of additional extensions.

Based on Joomla MVC framework with all its advantages:

Functionality
the functionality is okay but not so good i would say when it comes to other paid that i have tested but this is just for my own stand
Ease of use
Is confusing for me on how to use it, it took me a week to figure it out on how it works, the interface is old not updated from what i saw.
Support
Support is also hard when you post to forum, it will take some time to wait for answers but since this is free then i expect it.
Documentation
Documentation was not updated as well, there are old screenshot that is not applicable anymore which make me confusing at all
I used this to: I just tested this using my demo site for Joomla 5.3.1, not yet in production.

Functionality
It's almost fully featured for selling products. The great thing is that it's free.
Ease of use
Difficult to use. Layout and UI design has not kept up with Joomla changes.

Functionality
I'm use VirtueMart many years and is highly custom-able you can do everything with it if you know how. Also there is many third party devs.
Ease of use
Is not easy too use honestly, but after some learning you will do OK. This is not for someone who want easy solution but is best for Joomla
Support
There is a forum witch so much resources and with active members for free. After payment you will get support sometimes from lead developers
Documentation
Documentation is OK, this is huge component with many third party devs they can't cover every aspect of but basic are well covered
I used this to: Two online shops 5.1.1 with more than 7000 products. This is not for someone who want easy solution but it offers you everything

Functionality
It lacks of descent core features, such as a good PDF generator, filtering and search. Also the routing is a big failure when using SEF urls
Ease of use
Not at all easy to configure, not intuitive and takes a lot of time (and experience) to use. A component that ignores Joomla core too much
Support
Don’t expect support besides some users on the forum. Paying customers also don’t get support and it is almost impossible to get in touch
Documentation
Developer documentation is worthless, but there is some user documentation.
I used this to: A webshop in car parts, together with Rupostel OPC and a custom build template.

Poor. Cannot even figure out how to get a single product to be visible on front end.

Poor documentation. Not at all intuitive. Poor documentation. Not at all intuitive.

I cannot think of any more words to express lack.
I used this to: Nothing. Going to delete and try something else.
Will try another cart extension.

slow work process, the system does not advance in any type of improvement
Ease of use
complex, everything is a mess, lots of unuseful configuration, bad UI and UX in backend... etc etc.
Support
Worst support ever, even if you bought a membership 70€! Never replied a ticket. Even plugins you buy in official site works properly
Documentation
old info, this site looks like an abandoned site, no ones replies, no changes updates, etc..
I used this to: Unfortunately inherited from old sites when Joomla was a good CMS... Joomla 4 also the worst product in the digital world.

Functionality
Only outdated versions are free download. As of version 4.0.14 all updates are for paid users only so can't update Joomla 4 either.
Ease of use
Quirky interface, but you get used to it. Never found it especially intuitive.
Support
Support for paid users only. Forum questions often not answered or closed without resolution.
Documentation
Lots of documentation, at least. Poor English is sometimes hard to follow.
I used this to: Catalog for parts. No sales. Joomla 4. (Will need to replace with something else now.)

If you have a basic understanding of joomla administration, then it will be very suitable for you
