Introduction

Virtuemart Import, Virtuemart Administration, Migration & Conversion, Extensions Migration, Joomla Migration

If you are still running an old version of Joomla your website is at risk. Old enough that Joomla development team is not supporting these versions anymore.

Finally a solution to easily migrate to Joomla 3.

Some other third party extension follow the same roadmap and DayCounts.com is not an exception as we already stopped any further developments on those platforms.

This migrator, is a giant leap towards Joomla 3!
Every Joomla core and Virtuemart content from your shop will be copied over. Here is how it works.

Install blank Joomla 3 on the same server as your existing website
Install JMigrator component and configure database access and file paths
Select the contents you want to migrate and hit the "Migrate now button"
Our system will copy and transform all the data to have an almost fully functional brand new website out of the box

Integrity

All the data will be transferred using the same ids.** What does that mean? Well that means data integrity is preserved during migration. Most of your links having an ID in the url will remain the same

Multilingual

If available, your Joomfish translations will be imported too !

Robust

Our sytem was run successfully on several shops with up to 20.000 products

No rush

Although this component will be a great help, your 'old' site is still running and customers continue to register, orders are created and you don't want to turn it down before the new website is ready.
You may have other components, modules, plugins and template that you want to migrate and we understand that can take some time.
No problem, hit the migrate button again and all new data will be imported so your data keep up to date.

Extensible

Yes! The JMigrator is extensible and additional plugins are available to migrate data from other components such as AWO Coupon, iStraxx downloads, Alph User Points, RS Blog, K2 and more to come.

Trop cher, buggé et complexe

Sur le papier ça à l'air bien, permet de passer à une version supérieure, dans la réalité tout est buggé
Ease of use
Complètement abscond, très complexe en définitive et des messages d'erreurs en pagailles.
Support
Le créateur m'a proposé de m'aider mais le décalage horaire puis il faut donc donner tous les mots de passes etc...
Documentation
Peut-être que c'est bien documenté mais pas réussi donc... à voir en définitive, donc je ne peux pas trop en parler.
Value for money
Bien trop cher ! Trop complexe et trop bugée, un peu déçu car vu le prix ! je n'ai rien gagné, ni temps, ni simplicité.

Kunhan oli älynnyt painaa tallenna-nappia ennen asetusten testausta, niin loppu sujui kuin itsestään. Itse migraatio oli hyvin vaivaton!
Ease of use
Sekä Joomla ja Virtuemart 2.x taipuivat kuin taikaiskusta uuteen kuosiin, eikä tarvinnut manuaalisesti alkaa kopy-pastella tietoja siirtää.
Support
Tekninen tuki, vaikkakin englanniksi, toimi todella hyvin. Vikahan ei ollut muussa kuin omassa kielitaidossa ohjeita lukiessa ja tulkatessa.

Ehdottomasti rahansa arvoinen tuote! Kun olisin tiennyt tästä aiemmin, olisin tehnyt migraation jo paljon aiemmin. Suosittelen lämpimästi!

in English. I not read :) But the component is so clear and competently made that everything is clear and without documentation

Functionality
Very capable but can't cope with certain things like if you delete Shopper fields in between migrations. Also found a few major bugs, fixed!
Ease of use
Easy to use when you know how - thorough reading of documentation 1st is highly recommended.
Support
Hit and miss - sometimes really great other times quite drawn out to resolve issues quickly. Time zone diff GMT / Canada did not help.
Documentation
Good but room for improvement.
Value for money
For a short simple project < 6 months then good VFM otherwise you need to renew the support subscription doubling the price - disappointing.

It updates your virtuemart installation but it transfers all your old Joomla 2.5 data if you wish. God send!
