Custom Fields QR Code adds a QR code field type to Joomla. Once the plugin is enabled, you can create a QR field in any extension that supports Joomla custom fields, such as articles, enter any text you like, a link, a coupon code or contact details, and the plugin turns it into a QR code automatically. Since version 6.0.0 the code is generated locally on your own server, with no external service involved. Custom Fields QR Code is a Joomla plugin from Joomill, with a free version and advanced styling options in PRO.

Who it is for
Joomla site builders who want to add a scannable QR code to their content: a link to a page, a discount code, a vCard, a Wi-Fi login or a menu, generated straight from a custom field instead of a separate QR generator.

Features

QR code field type — adds a "QR Code" custom field you can create in any extension that supports Joomla custom fields: articles, categories, contacts and more.
Turn any text into a QR code — enter a link, a coupon code or any text, and the QR code is generated automatically.
Generated locally — since version 6.0.0 the QR code is created on your own server, with no external service and no third-party request. Better for privacy and reliability.

PRO options

Size and alignment (PRO) — set the QR code size in pixels and align it left, center or right.
Colours (PRO) — set the QR code colour and the background colour.
Module shape (PRO) — choose square, rounded or dotted modules.
Use the current page URL (PRO) — leave the field empty to generate a QR code for the current page automatically.
Download buttons (PRO) — show buttons under the QR code so visitors can download it as PNG, SVG or both, at a download size you choose.

How it works
Install the plugin, or use Install from Web and search for "Joomill", then enable the QR Code custom field plugin.
Under Content > Fields (or any custom-fields-enabled extension), create a new field of type "QR Code".
Edit an article and type the link or text you want to encode. In PRO you can leave it empty to use the current page URL.
The QR code renders on the front end, ready to scan.
