showplus is an eye-catching slideshow to display a set of images with user-defined transition between them. It is easy to get started with but offers a number of customization options for more advanced users.

showplus is powered by a slideshow script written entirely in plain JavaScript, and uses no Flash or JavaScript libraries such as MooTools or jQuery. Having a showplus slideshow on a page incurs a footprint of about 14 Kb with only a single CSS file and a JavaScript file included in the page header.

+ responsive design, scales to arbitrary size
+ choose from six transition animation types: fade, zoom, pan, Ken Burns effect, push, wipe
+ attach captions to images with multilingual support using a labels file with fall-back to a default caption
+ link each image to an arbitrary location
+ order images according to filename or last modified time, shuffle images each time the page is shown, or specify custom order
+ quickly navigate between images with a horizontal or vertical navigation bar
+ set most important styles in the administration back-end
+ use it with both left-to-right and right-to-left languages
+ meaningful output even if JavaScript is disabled in the browser

Pretty good

Showplus has actually most of the functionality and effects you can need. Just missing image folder management and direct upload to it.

Ease of use

easy to use.

Did not use it

not clear enougt.

I used this to: testing and associative joomla project. Having " do not copy past" is what i call minimalistic ... Syntax examples for showplus fade and others not given spent hours to figure out what my mistake was.

LOVE being able to make the module do its own location rather than writing code to float, center, etc.

Ease of use

DOH - even Homer could use it!

Never needed - too easy!

Excellent Plugin

Love this plug.

I especially like the Ken Burns effect transition. Only thing I'd really like to know is how to slow down the Ken Burns effect, runs a bit fast for me.

Great addition to my Joomla sites.

Perfect support!

Thanks again for the perfect support! I asked for an additional feature and got it. Great!

Great module, no fuss, supports multiple instances

Good faq

If you're looking for a slider that will simply scroll through color photographs automatically, then this might do well. It's free, and it installed without issue. Our application was different however. We were creating slide decks that are like a Powerpoint presentation for a lecture. The two big issues for us are first of all you can NOT use clear Gifs or Pngs. On some sliders if you try to use a clear png it just changes it to a white opaque background. On this one however it turned everything BLACK. Another issue was the lack of nav buttons. On ours we couldn't make it auto scroll as the person needs to read the text at their own speed. There is a Previous and Next hyperlink at the bottom, but due to the layout we wanted the left and right nav buttons on the sides of the slides. There is a set you can get to come up when you hover over the slide, but they blended in with the white background and will only show while hovering.

I like the fact that it uses the Joomla images folder, so it's very easy to change my slideshow whenever I want.

This module installed very easily, setup was a breeze and it looks wonderful. I'm very glad I tried this module first; I don't need to look any further!

Great module

Posted on 30 August 2013

This module is easy to set-up and feature rich.

I am new to joomla and websites. I've been with them for only around 4 months, and i'm getting into it. I came to a situation where i needed a slow slideshow and i came across showplus.

Although i could do what i wanted there is one thing more. that is a 'Share on social networks' button so that visitors can share my pictures.

Please consider.

boxplus is an ultimate lightweight pop-up window implementation (commonly known as lightbox) that can show images, video and other multimedia content including web albums, YouTube and Vimeo videos, Flash, QuickTime, PDF as well as custom HTML content. boxplus exhibits a high degree of personalization with features like thumbnail bar of images inside the lightbox for fast navigation between items, image captions supporting HTML, auto-fit content and auto-center as well as several themes mimicking various popular lightbox implementations. boxplus for Joomla adds a thin layer around boxplusx client-side JavaScript code to expose its functionality in the Joomla framework. Since boxplusx is written directly in native JavaScript, it incurs virtually no extra overhead and you should not expect script conflicts, which are likely to arise with other plug-ins built on top of different JavaScript libraries. USAGE Organize the content on the page as you normally would but add a "rel" attribute that starts with "boxplus" to any links you would like to bind a boxplus lightbox pop-up window to. When a visitor clicks any of these links, a boxplus window showing the linked content will be displayed let it be an image, a video or other content. Alternatively, use the activation tag syntax, which will automatically convert into a pop-up window activating link with the specified text.

BibTeX bibliography formatter presents a BibTeX bibliography within a content item in a human-readable format. bib files are included with the syntax, and bibliography entries are formatted as HTML in a language-dependent manner. The plug-in handles some common LaTeX accents and special symbols, which are converted to UTF-8. Linked to the formatted entries, raw BibTeX is included in the output as preformatted text. The extension supports basic sorting of bibliography entries. Supported languages include English, French, Hungarian.

metaudio is a simple way to publish a folder with MP3 and MP4 (MPEG-4) music and audio recordings on a Joomla website. The extension extracts ID3v2 and Apple-style metadata from individual files, creates a listing featuring an audio player and showing the most important metadata (e.g. title, artist, album), and lets visitors view (and authenticated logged-in users edit) all other metadata. Supported metadata include title, artist, album, album artist, grouping, year, track and disk number, composer, comment, genre, tempo, encoder, copyright, JPEG or PNG cover art, description and lyrics. Metadata are cached in the database to improve performance and re-read automatically when files are updated either via the extension interface or the file system. The primary goal of metaudio is to provide a non-commercial Joomla component that offers an intuitive yet versatile user interface to manage metadata of audio recordings. The current version supports viewing as well as editing Apple-style metadata in m4a (MPEG-4 audio) files, and ID3v2.2 (read only), ID3v2.3 (read and write) and (partially) ID3v2.4 metadata in mp3 files but future versions will support additional container formats.

Liturgical year

The liturgical year, also known as the Christian year, consists of the cycle of liturgical seasons in Christian churches which determines when Feasts, Memorials, Commemorations, and Solemnities are to be observed and which portions of Scripture are to be read. The dates of the festivals vary somewhat between the different churches, though the sequence and logic is largely the same. This module shows major events in the liturgical calendar in chronological order. Individual events can be shown or hidden separately (e.g. show Christmas and hide Ash Wednesday), with optionally displaying the exact date as well as the number of days since or until the event.
