Scroll article excerpt Joomla module will create the information reel in the website, this scroll contains the article title and article excerpt. It is scrolling like a reel. This plugin is very useful to show your promotion, important article to the user.

Module configuration

In your Joomla administrator section go to Extensions, Modules and select the Scroll article excerpt module from the list then click the Module tab to configure the module.

Scroll Settings (Module parameters)

Height: Height of the single article title in the scroll.
Display Count: Number of the article you want to display in the scroll at the same time.
Excerpt length: Enter the excerpt length.
Category : Enter article category to filter.
Tags : Enter article tags to filter.
Number of Articles : Enter the number of article titles to display in the slider.
Featured Articles : Select featured articles display option.
Order Results : Select article scroll display order.

Frequently asked questions

Q1. How to update the number of articles to scroll?

Go to Extensions >> Modules >> Scroll article excerpt >> Article Setting
On the Article Setting page, we have the option to update this number.

Q2. How many recent article titles will display at the same time?

By default, it will show 5. On the Article Setting page, we have the option to update this number.

Q3. Why are only a few characters display in scroll excerpt?

By default, it will show only 150 characters. On the Scroll Setting page, we have the option to update this number.

I am testing the extension on my 3.1.5 site and it works fine so far. It would be nice to have an option to change font colors but it can be done with a little fiddling. And maybe an option to display a picture next to the text, but probably it wasn't a purpose of the module. :) I haven't experienced any issues so my satisfaction.

Good extension, works well but need improvements like (suggestions)

the possibility to define delay between each scroll, define scroll speed and also the possibility to define the class suffix.

Also doesn't work in a page where you have breezing form, the page crashes so there is problably a conflict with this contribution.

With those points it will deserve a better note.

There a 6 posts on this Devs website concerning this issue that I am also having. First on on Nov 5, 2011 and as of today Mar 12, 2012, Dev has not responded to any.

Does not recognize any category or even all category's (Display all). Just shows "..."

I really hate to review (bad) Non-Commercial Devs, but if you are going to put your stuff out there, at least occasionally acknowledge your users issues.

Owner's reply: Hi theyinyanggroup, please let me know the issue with screen, so that it is help for me to fix the issue easily. i have updated the plugin, please find the new version (3.1) in the download link. i have tested this version in all latest browsers and many themes, also added more option to filter article from the database.
