This Joomla 2.5 and 3.x plugin changing automatically the Database Collation and Database Character set including all tables and columns. It will also converting tables from MyISAM to InnoDB. The new Joomla 3.5 is designed to work with the UTF8mb4 collation and the InnoDB Engine of MySQL. This collation allows you to use Emoji and other multibyte characters such as certain Traditional Chinese glyphs, Cherokee etc. In this case you need to change the collation to “UTF-8 Multibyte”. Joomla 3.5 is doing this for all the own core tables while upgrading to the newest Joomla Version. But you may need to repeat that step for all the "old" extensions or after installing or upgrading extensions which are using other collation. After installing new extensions you are strongly advised to check this. If an extension involves fields with different collations then this could end in an error like: "Illegal mix of collations". The "Collation and Engine - Changer" can be used to switch the Database Collation and Database Character set including all tables and columns to UTF8mb4 (or to an other collation). It will also converting all tables from MyISAM to InnoDB. In this way you are using the same like Joomla 3.5 is doing for the core tables. All this can be easily done from your Joomla backend. Whenever you have one of these problems: you have to switch from one collation to an other you have to switch from MyISAM to InnoDB you got the error: "Illegal mix of collations" you have to migrate an website from Joomla 2.5 to 3.5 you are using extensions that are not using UTF8mb4 then the CE-Changer is your solution.

EasyStaging is a Joomla! 2.5.4+ and 3.3.x+ component that simplifies the process of copying changes from a private "staging" version of a website to a "live" or public web server. EasyStaging allows you to replicate a "development" website to a "live" or "staging" location through replication plans. Using the concept of Plans you can copy the contents to multiple live/staging site locations. EasyStaging Plans allows you create Plans for specific users groups using Joomla! 2.5+ ACL model and control what the Plan will let them copy • all files or just those in a specific directory e.g. /images/dept/joes-files/ • all files that match a specific regex patter • or even exclude from the copy files matching a pattern • copy all tables in a database • copy a specific set of tables • or copy a table only if it doesn't already exist on the target site Version 1.2.2 adds some minor features and a range of bug fixes.
