Easy Coming Soon & Maintenance
Introduction
Easy Coming Soon & Maintenance puts a Coming Soon or Maintenance page in front of your Joomla site while you build or fix it. Visitors see a clean, branded page. You, your team and your clients still see the real site.
A Joomla coming soon page that's search-engine friendly
The page is sent with a 503 "Service Unavailable" status and a Retry-After header, so search engines are told your site is only temporarily unavailable. It also sends noindex and no-store headers so the page isn't indexed or cached. If you'd rather have search engines index your Coming Soon page, you can choose a 200 status for Coming Soon mode. Maintenance mode always sends 503.
Two modes, six layouts
Choose Coming Soon (Minimal, Split panel or Bold layouts) or Joomla maintenance mode (Simple, Card or Stripe). Add your logo, heading, text, a countdown and social links for Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and GitHub. Backgrounds can be a color, an image, a self-hosted MP4/WebM video, YouTube or Vimeo. Phones, Save-Data browsers and reduced-motion visitors get a still poster image instead. YouTube and Vimeo backgrounds load from those services, so they receive the visitor's IP address. Mention them in your privacy policy if you use them.
Set a switch-off date and time and the page turns itself off on schedule.
Build a waiting list before launch
Collect emails with a signup form and consent checkbox. The form is protected by a honeypot field, a minimum fill time, Joomla's form token and an hourly per-IP limit, and IP addresses are stored only as hashes. Send an optional auto-reply through Joomla's mailer, then export the list to CSV with email, createdutc, consent, consenttext and mode columns.
Let the right people see the real site
- User groups: members of chosen groups see the site when logged in on the front end.
- Your admin session: logged-in administrators see the real front end in the same browser.
- IP whitelist: IPv4, IPv6 and CIDR ranges, with proxy support.
- Named preview links: one per client, with optional expiry and use limits.
- Shared password: set or clear it from the Dashboard's Shared password card.
The Joomla administrator, the Joomla API and the command line are never blocked.
Keep payments and webhooks working
Allow rules keep APIs, webhooks and payment gateway callbacks open. Default rules cover HikaShop, VirtueMart, J2Store, PayPal IPN, RSForm PayPal, Akeeba Subscriptions, PhocaCart, EShop, JoomShopping, OS Membership Pro, Event Booking and Joom Donation. A built-in safety list stops you from accidentally opening your content.
Important: payment gateway callbacks only stay open when the gateway calls a non-SEF URL that includes option= (for example index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=checkout&task=notify). Check each gateway's notification URL before switching on, and test one payment in sandbox mode.
Stay in control
A warning bar shows on every admin page while the page is on. The Dashboard shows your status, a lockout check, a live preview of both modes and a stats panel with visits, signups and password unlocks, with no personal data stored. If you're ever locked out, open your private emergency link or delete one marker file by FTP, and the page turns off immediately.
The extension never reads or writes .htaccess or any other server file. Everything happens inside Joomla.
